We have recently been awared the safe contratcor accreditation although it was a lengthy process, in my opinion it took far too long. Appreciate we did not pay the express service premium, but i submitted the last of my evidence in early march on the portal but did not recieve the certificate until early May after repeatingly sending more and more evidence. Some of the request in my opinion were not needed. Our exsisting certificate in the meantime expired. I believe we had two auditors checking and requesting further evidence, once sent it took more time to check this over which was fustrating. We are seriously considering not re-applying next year. All in all not happy with this service. Regards..

The SafeContractor accreditation process was relatively straight forward. The Customer representatives and assessors were easy to communicate with and were professional and curteous.

We've been with SafeContractor for about 12 years. The only problem we have (it's a big one) is that despite getting the questionaire completed and returned, the audit takes so long to be returned to us that our certification expires. This happens year after year and causes us issues with our clients. This year, it almost cost the loss of our biggest client which would've resulted in jobs losses!! This is completely unacceptable, your service has to improve otherwise why bother offering this service!?

I have worked for a number of large companies and working for a small company where the purse strings are tighter and there are less personel it is more difficult to meet the requirements for Safe Contractor accreditation.

I don’t understand the rationale in terms of the auditing process, we are asked to complete the online questionnaire 30 days before our certificate is about to expire, this year we had our application form filled in and back within a week and yet our new certificate wasn’t sent out until the day before our original certificate was due to expire, however we were told that if we paid an additional fee, we could get fast tracked, why not audit our application form as soon as we submit it

A waste of money, of no benefit to our business, and lots of sales calls....which was expected. I would NEVER EVER recommend SafeContractor, and what's worse, the auditors are not 100% conversant with the relevant legisltation to the location of the business going through this uselss exercise.

Been a member now for over 10 years so know the renewal process pretty well. All went ok thisa year although the promised / paid for 3 day audit was not honoured (apparently due to a shortage of avaliable auditors). No refund for this failure was forthcoming.

I have used S/C for many years and this was the most poor year bar far. It has taken well over a month to process. I paid the amount required to complete with in 20 days and it took a month. My S/C expired without having any contact from S/C. I had to call up twice to find out what was happening. This is very frustrating and unusual from my previous experience. I think it’s been very poor and clearly you want customer to pay the extra £85 to speed up the process. If this is so then you should charge the correct amount for the service in the first place. Very frustrating!
