“First class service and effort from Evan, who worked beyond his hours to make sure the job was complete to a high standard. Evan communicated with us to let us know exactly when he’d arrive, then explained what he would do, what precautions we had to take (some floorboards were removed and the joists sprayed to kill a small section of woodworm), and was friendly and helpful throughout. Very impressed.”

“Excellent service from start to finish. From our surveyor - Mark Kerr, to the guys that did the work - Neil Ferris and Davie Shepherd, the team were fantastic. Neil and Davie worked non-stop and completed the work to a high standard. They were very respectful of our property and always had time to discuss the work and answer any questions we had. The plasterer Jimmy was also excellent. He completed the work quickly to an extremely high standard.”

“The team were professional, efficient and prompt. They were respectful of my house by laying covering and protecting my flooring. My father used this firm 30years ago and he recommended them at that time, can't praise them enough.”

“The Dundee team of Richardson and Starling did an excellent job of dealing with the dry rot in our house. I would particularly mention the work of Bob Emery, the joiner. He was very competent and efficient, and he was always happy to take the time to explain to us what he was doing and why. And he was very cheerful, despite the fact that Storm Babet was raging at the time and making everything just that bit more difficult.”

“Our Church property in Larkhall was affected by Rising Damp, Wet and Dry Rot. We engaged Richardson & Starling to deal with the property problem. The property was surveyed by Craig who carried out a thorough and professional survey and issued a very detailed report. The contracting was supervised by Daryn who managed the works from start to finish and kept us updated and communicated well with us. The quality of the works was carried out to a very high standard by Graeme, Willie, Davie, Billy, John, Josh and Scot who were courteous and very tidy considering the major repair works. The office staff were very helpful and easy to contact. I would recommend Richardson & Starling to anyone who finds that they have a damp, woodworm or rot problem in their property. Great Company for Property Repairs.”

“I was impressed by the helpfulness and professionalism of all the Richardson & Starling (Dundee) branch staff with whom I had contact. Having recently bought an old stone cottage, there were a number of matters needing attention: damp in a cupboard under the staircase, mild woodworm in the attic, and sash windows that were not running smoothly. These have all been rectified to my satisfaction. All who were involved - Garry Shaw (Surveyor), Steve Hornby (Contracts Manager) and technicians, Bob Emery, Mike Cook & Paul Mitchell were very pleasant and did a great job.”

“Suspected that I might have a damp patch would need (costly) attention. Delighted with the surveyors report - condensation issue which just required me to keep an eye on the situation. Very happy with the service and outcome. The valuation fee was money very well and wisely spent. Recommended!”

“We had an outbreak of dry rot in our Victorian property in Aberdeen. Thank goodness we found Richardson and Starling to fix it. The initial survey was done by a very professional Surveyor. The works to remove the plaster and affected wood started within only a few weeks. Due to the nature of dry rot the full scope only became apparent once the plaster removal started. A partial replacement of the entrance stair way steps was required which involved skilled joinery in a small space. The Richardson and Starling Team were friendly and hard working. It was nice to see the range of experience in the team and see the more experienced members providing coaching to the newer ones. Part of the works included removal of the electrical fuse box. Even though electrical work isn't done directly by the R&S team, they arranged their preferred contractor, who came quickly and did a good job. Since we didn't have any contacts of our own, we appreciated R&S arranging this. The new plastering was done by a sub-contractor, also to a very high standard. It included some Victorian cornicing, so we appreciated that they were able to re-store this to the original style. To have an outbreak of dry rot was unfortunate but being in the professional hands of R&S certainly made it much easier for us to address it. Thank you very much to Stephen, Neil, Davy, Kostas, Callum and Rachael.”

“Evan arrived promptly with a cheery smile and set to work straight away. He covered furniture left exposed, explained what he would do, and carried out the job from beginning to end with minimum fuss, finishing up by clearing away all debris from site. He inspired confidence with his workmanship and hopefully the next and final stage (plastering) will be just as professional.”

“Excellent job done by John,Josh & Dominik at my home in Troon. I had damp coming through a couple of walls and they carried out the work very efficiently with a professional finish and ready to decorate. My floors were completely covered and protected.”

“Craig attended exactly on time, was professional polite and friendly. He quickly completed the work satisfactorily and everything was left clean and tidy. He even covered the stairs and landing with protector which is a nice touch.”
