To solve a case I am facing too many people who dont know what they are talking about., asking me questions impossible to answer, somehow telling me that I am lying or hiding documents. I am feeling cheated .

Very nice ways in approaching clients , unfortunately in the case of Regency Insurance they do not pay. Be careful

if I can, I would have given a negative 5 star. they are the WORST you can ever get. Avoid them AT ALL COST. They tell you they cover all this and that when they try to get you as a client, but will try whatever they can to find a reason to decline your claim later. They also decline claims which would have been usually approved by any other insurance company in similar policy terms. They are also very slow in responses, super slow!!!! All you can contact them is through emails and they are not responsive. It caused so much unnecessary stress in particular when you need an answer before you can proceed with your medical treatment. What is also terrible is, they also sometimes have "technical errors" which results in you not receiving the payment of the claims which have already been approved by them too, when all your bank account info has always been the same. They also never follow up on your query emails and you need to wait forever and realise that no one is following it through for you and you have to spend the time on following up with them multiple times to get someone to reply to you , and many times they wouldn't answer all your questions and you have to ask again and again, and it’s nothing but causing extreme frustration on top of whatever medical illness you are having. I hope this can be an alert to anyone else who is considering them.

I strongly suspect this 'company' is nothing but a bank account and an email service. My wife was knocked down by a motor vehicle and required surgery. Contacted the claims service, was issued a claims number and that's about all they have done in 7 months. Randomly people contacted us in the initial month to tell us all about how we 100% had hospital coverage, how without a doubt we would be reimbursed for the medical expenses. Then all stopped and the tune was changed to its an accident so we don't have to cover it... Here is the question I have for anyone from Regency reading this... all medical treatment required will be a result of an accident... you don't purposely get ill, you don't purposely suffer an injury! If anyone from regency would like to contact me to discuss why they have failed to meet the terms of the policy I would be only to happy to discuss it, but as they won't my advice to anyone traveling to Europe for more than a holiday... do NOT use regency as your visa required health insurance, they will issue the certificate for your visa application, take your money, and that is the last thing they will ever do for you.

Avoid at all costs. They will take your money for coverage and then deny recommended medical treatment but will also make you wait weeks in poor health before they deny assistance. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH REGENCY FOR EXPATS

Read the one star reviews! This company is based in Nevis, a small volcanic island in the Caribbean. If that isn't a red flag, I don't know what is. You will never see a human being from this company face to face. There is no office you can go to, hardly an address to be found. Your only way of communicating is through their main email address. If you have a claim, you will not be assigned a person to communicate with, only a generic email with no individual person to message back and forth. They approved small claims, doctors visits and what not quickly and efficiently. no issues there, actually great experience. Any sort of large claim they made me jump through endless hoops like getting medical records from completely unrelated things, some from 10+ years prior in another country. Then they delayed as much as possible and suggested if I needed to $50k USD procedure sooner then I should pay for it myself and submit a receipt. They wanted to avoid paying the premium fees as they know we would chose the cheapest option if we had to pay for it out of pocket. As if anyone has that much money laying around. After many months, we showed up at the hospital, only to find out they hadn't approved it. Started the process over again and finally 3 months later was able to get it covered; they approved it while under anesthesia! If only the idiots had waited 1 more day they could have paid half as much for the generic hospital costs instead of single room fees. Anyways, that was bad enough, but now I was stuck with them as I had a pre-existing condition. At that point, they doubled my premiums, the advertised rate is just what you pay if there are less than 125% claims. So factor that in when you make a decision based on this being the cheapest coverage. Now, after I renewed the policy and paid for the entire year in advance to get the discount, then they informed me anything to do with my procedure (with implant) was no longer covered as it was considered a "chronic condition". Yet it would be a pre-existing condition if I went to any other company. So basically I'm screwed for the rest of my life with ongoing pain. Take home point: read the chronic conditions exclusion. Basically, once something a condition is diagnosed, it is not covered beyond the initial bit. the wording makes it such that anything requiring ongoing care is not covered beyond the amount listed. So, they advertise a price which is 50% less than the actual price if you make any claims. Then, they make anything with ongoing treatment not covered. Then, if you have any issues, they just cut off communication and there is nothing you can do about it. Good luck hiring a lawyer in Nevis to hold them accountable. Stay away from this company at all costs.

Blew my artery behind my left knee in Jan this year, it took Regency over a week to answer yes or no to claim, doctor stated I have a blood clot behind knee which could move to my heart, this was all explained. Outcome they just wanted old medical report to see if they could find a reason not to pay operation not concerned about health or seriousness of injury, end result told i had high cholesterol prior so would not cover nice insurance company this one, after talking with 3 mates whom were with regency same situation for all 3, please read reviews prior to joining this outfit

I live a very healthy life style (vegetarian no alcohol or drug use exercise almost every day meditate do yoga sleep well ....:) and I move to costa rica a couple of years ago. When I look for insurance back then I decided to take regency for expats, took the fully comprehensive plan which is the best and includes most things. Expensive but at my age you want something that can cover your ailments of getting older. I started having low back pain and hip pain cause by a change on my gaite as a result of an injury on my feet. The body tryed to adjust and the pain move from my feet then to my knee last to my hip and lower back. I didn't settle with what doctors were saying that it was related with aging and were prescribing pain meds. I am also a firm believer that when body has pain, you need to find the cause and not just numb it because it can cause farther damage. I was not happy with this approach and got an appointment with an specialist, whom listen to my concerns and went ahead and ordered an MRI. I am glad he did because we found the cause of the pain and treat it. (Probably the untreated condition changed the way I was putting pressure on the rest of the leg and cause a borderline dysplasia which cause a tear in the labrum) Because of the MRI they were able to see the cause of the pain and suggest a treatment. For the first time in a while I was able to be pain free and now with the treatment and therapy, I am in good shape. Now, there is the bump. In the diagnosis it said “Borderline dysplasia” and for Regency this diagnosis is not covered and wont cover anything related to it beacuse they classify it as a congenital disease. so I submitted a claim. Although, the persone attending the claim was polite, it took 6 month to resolve the claim and no-one ever talked to me. They wont cover it. Period. And they wont even take a phone call. So for this year on top of the Full price 6.500 u$ For my plan, I spent another 2.500 extra. Very disappointing. My intention writing this is to help others be careful when choosing insurance for those entering certain age :).

Living overseas it was very important for my husband and I to choose the Insurance Company which we put our trust into taking into consideration their customer service and their mission statement. We truly believed in Regency For Expats and took out the policy we had to cancel when we knew that my husband had diabetes but they told us they would half the original premium and offer us a policy we were gappy to accept even at the reduced cost. Sadly my husband died in December 2019 and it has been very hard living here in Egypt nothing has been easy not even the burial but I got through it I only have my daughter here so been hard and not received the support I thought I would have from Regency. I have been waiting since December 2019 for my husbands settlement nothing has happened. They have put me through so much stress but I have given them everything they have not contacted me for months they even wrote and said to me that yes they could have treated me better. I want to be able to put closure on this but they keep dragging it on and on. No one has given me any help or the support as a widowed woman alone in Egypt trying to deal with my husbands death. He died peacefully when we were in the hotel from his heart stopping he never experienced any heart problems my Dr even wrote a report to confirm this and I have all the reports to confirm no suspicious circumstances because he died in the hotel I am still getting the run around. You cannot believe what I have had to do. I have made myself clear explaining everything to them. I need someone to help me put closure and let me move on as I too will he the next one heading into an early grave from all this stress. I did everything correct before we entered into this policy contract to ensure there would be no situations but this is all I have experienced problems since the death of my husband I am exhausted, sad and heart broken and really cannot believe how I have am and have been treated with such a large company who say their customers come first. Once I received a call but it was like talking double dutch kept calling me maam which I did not like so its just very frustrating and mentally draining. 😪😓

after 5 months we are still waiting for settlement of our claim for my wifes hospital bills resulting from a road traffic accident in october 2021. numerous emails requesting answers regarding the slowness of this claim are met with a stock answer "we have escalated your case to the to the claims team to investigate" absolute rubbish as far as i am concerned

This is my second review. DO NOT BUY REGENCY. For 3+ weeks I have asked to clarify coverage, and they have not even after 40+ emails, given a clear answer. Now I discover that, had I followed their recommendation ("go get the procedure done and we will tell you after if you are covered") I would have been denied according to their own terms and conditions. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

Regency has denied my wife coverage for an operation that is scheduled for tomorrow to remove a nodule in her left breast. Although in the biopsy performed, came out as non-malignant, the fast growing and very irregular shape of the nodule, has raised concern among the team of oncologists at Ramathibodi Public hospital, so they advised her to remove the nodule and part of the surrounding tissue. It turns out that the “adviser" of Regency, thinks that this case could be left without surgery and proposes to monitore and wait when it acquires more alarming signs to proceed with the operation! I consider this argument totally unacceptable to deny assistance to my wife in something that worries her greatly. On the other hand, I find it inadmissible that the Regency "adviser" may question the medical criteria and protocol of the oncology team of a good hospital such as Ramathibodi Hospital. I do not think this is a way to manage claims from users.

I am so disappointed in Regency for Expats Insurance. My Doctor discovered that I had a hernia that required surgery. After sending in all of the required documentation they have been stalling and delaying any action for over 2 weeks now. Meanwhile, I am in pain and totally have lose faith in their "promises" of prompt service prior to signing up with them. My suggestion is to avoid Regency for Expats at all costs.

STAY AWAY. I have had their coverage for many years, but something recently changed. They tried to get me to sign a waiver after coverage was issued, stating I could not litigate in Hong Kong. I refused. Now they declined some basic outpatient coverage based on stated "pre-existing" conditions. However, as I am a long time client, they were aware of my general health. I actually have no pre-existing conditions. I will likely have to sue them to get the coverage promised.

Steer Clear is my best advice to anyone looking for medical insurance. Had to go to hospital after a routine checkup to have a Pacemaker fitted. Claim was rejected in full as I must have already had the heart problem!.. Even though it was asymptomatic they still don't have to pay out! Believe the poor reviews and steer well clear for the health of your finances as well as your health. Now watch for 5 or 6 5 star reviews to appear within the next couple of days!. that should give you an idea!.

READ THE CHRONIC CONDITIONS EXCLUSION They can literally deny any claim for any ongoing medical treatment as it is "chronic condition". They are based in NEVIS. A volcano island with 11,000 people known for tax evasion and money laundering. Why would they be based there? So you can't do anything about it when they deny your claim. They approve small claims, deny large claims or just stop communicating all together. What are you going to do if they don't return your email? Go to their office? Good luck finding an address. Post fake reviews (notice they are 1 star or 5 star) to drown out the truth. NowCompare is part of it. They cherry pick expensive plans to compare to. Do a comparison yourself with quote from individual reputable companies. It's not any cheaper!!!
