About The Red Dog Company:

The Red Dog Company was born out of the quest for well-designed, high-quality, dog beds and accessories.

Our dogs work hard, whether in the field, or exercising the children. When they’re not out and about, the chances are they are in their beds, so it seems only fair to make them as comfortable as possible.

Nick and Chris are field sports enthusiasts, and self-confessed gear obsessives.

“Clever Red Dog people! I have 2 absolutely wonderful mats (medium in kitchen, and large in sitting room), for my soulmate, Fallow, who has elbow dysplasia. She and I can’t praise these Red Dog mats enough. My only regret with them is when she chooses them to stretch out on - TOO OFTEN IN MY VIEW!! - rather than curling up on the sofa next to me. I have fallen asleep myself on the large mat a couple of times - just testing, you know ( as you do….🤣). I have had Labradors for 50 years so I have several degrees in dog beds. Red Dog beds get the Honours.”

“Following on from my review on how the mat was delivered I received a very nice telephone call from Nick and it appears that technology may have failed to work and my messages not received. However, I appreciate the fault lay with the courier and not with the Red Dog Company who had followed my instructions completely. I am now considering a bed for my aged Lab!”

We do our best to ensure the sizing of our products are clearly detailed our on website, and moreover we are always on hand to give customers advice, should they need assistance in choosing the right product. “Hi Nelly is enjoying her bed but the wool is coming off big time. Not sure if this is normal or not?? Love the quality of the bed though.”

We are delighted that you and Nelly are pleased with your large classic tweed bed. Please do not worry about some shedding of the wool from the topper at the beginning, especially with dogs that like to “nest”. Because our toppers are made with 100% wool - the natural fibres vary slightly in length. This is similar to when a new wool carpet is first laid, you may notice balls of fluff appearing for the first few weeks. This will all calm down after a short while. The toppers are very tough, and so you should not see any impact on fleece over the longer term. Please do keep us posted. All the best The Red Dog Company

“Mat came well packaged. Speedy delivery and was of excellent quality. Perfect for my whippet to lie on cafe/pub floors. Only thing that would make it even better for me, would be some type of shoulder strap for when I’m walking to venues”

We found that a handle works better as it is unobtrusive, whereas a strap might get in the way. “We are so pleased with Coco's new bed (we went for the Classic Bed in medium). My miniature schnauzer is 11 and over the years we've bought her many beds as they only seem to last a few months and then deteriorate. I can immediately see the difference with this new bed. The quality is in a different league to anything I've bought before, this bed will last for many years to come. And most importantly . . . Coco loves it!”

“We purchased a single beautifully made mat which we are currently taking with us all over the Lake District. We lay it under each pub/restaurant dining table as a perfect den for our two Cockapoos. It’s got a lovely thickness to it so works well on those chilly slate floors. It also doubles as a proper bed at night in the holiday cottage so we might get another one. Given the quality of the mat we are also seriously thinking of getting new proper beds for our dogs too.”

“I purchased my second Large Tweed Dog Bed, for my Basset Allegra and my Pug Kiri, they love it snuggled up together. Allegra fits in the bed perfect when she is stretched out, this bed is outstanding and of amazing quality and workmanship, The Red Dog Company have been so helpful, and the delivery was very speedy. “I recently purchased a roll mat for when we are out and about with our one year old Labrador. The mat arrived promptly, was well packaged, and we are delighted with the product. It's excellent quality, well made, and looks great - exactly what we were looking for in a travel mat. I particularly like the poppers, much better than straps seen on other types of travel mats. Our boy immediately took to the mat, giving his seal of approval. I also contacted the company by email with a question about their beds and communication was swift, professional and friendly. This company is a pleasure to deal with and we will be making future purchases from them.”

“Our 2 dogs love their beds. We bought them August 2022. Service very efficient. Down side :- They shed sheepskin fluff for months. one dog has worn 2 holes in one mattress cover”

Dear Clair, Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback, it is much appreciated. I'm glad your dogs love their Beds, but very disappointed that one of your mattress covers has two holes in it. Because our toppers are made with 100% wool, the fibres vary slightly in length. This is similar to when a new wool carpet is first laid, so it is not unusual for them to shed wool initially, especially if your dog is a 'nester'. The wool fleece toppers are tough and we have supplied thousands, it is almost unheard of to see damage to the topper in normal use - so this is clearly unacceptable. We stand by our Built to Last Guarantee, which is why we sent you a replacement mattress cover on the day you reported the issue. I am very sorry for the inconvenience, and hope this resolves the matter to your satisfaction. All the best Nick

“Molly is a 9 years old rescue with arthritis of spine and neck, it is obvious she has not had even the basic care dogs deserve, she does not use a dog bed just sleeps on the floor. Your mattress has worked wonders Molly sleeps on it every night, it is helping her arthritis and her whole demeanour. The mats, one I use in the car and the other around the house. No problem ordering and delivery. Price wise worth every penny.”

“I’m not totally happy with the look of my dogs new collar. It’s very stiff and doesn’t look like a top quality collar. Because it’s so shiny, it looks like a plastic collar. Perhaps I chose the wrong colour. I tried it on my dog so I can’t return it anymore. I wish I returned it straight away.”

Dear Lucie, Thanks you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are really sorry that you are not pleased with your collar. The Stirrup leather you chose, comes from a Yorkshire based Master Saddler, and I can assure you is top quality English Bridle Leather. All our leather products are made by E Jefferies, world renowned saddlers, who have been producing a quality product since 1820. I agree that they can appear stiff when new, but they quickly become much more supple. Similarly the finish will age beautifully if looked after properly. We only want delighted customers, so if you are not reassured by my comments, please return the collar to us for a refund. Regards Nick

“Purchased two slip leads standard length for our two vizslas we've always used slip leads but much thicker ones than these and it took a day or two to get used to them as they're so light and well made but the best point is they feel comfortable in your hand so far so good and delivery and packaging was great so very pleased”

“I had been looking at the Red Dog Company beds for some time as I wanted a good quality, well-made bed for my Labrador who has elbow dysplasia. I am delighted with it as is my dog who snuggled into it as soon as I put it down. I initially winced a bit at the price but once I had received it and opened the box, I knew immediately it was worth it. I know this bed will last a long time!”
