“Saw the advertisement on Facebook “nearly free removals for elderly over 66” so I thought it may be a government scheme. I had people phoning me for 2 days with quotes from£300 to £800. Is this what you call nearly free?”

“Not a huge amount of response I got 4 in total - one was super expensive central London based outfit and the other 3 were reasonable but got put off reading reviews on some of them as it appeared they were offshore/production line outfits so a pure lottery if you got someone with any sense or a complete imbecile - I wasnt prepared to take risk to save a few hundred quid so opted for a local conveyancer.”

“The problem with this site is that removal companies appear to put up a clickbait low estimate which is a small fraction of what they will actually quote in reality. Examples: On Reallymoving: £1536, actual quotation after survey: £3417 plus extras. On Reallymoving: £1068, actual quotation no survey: £2335 plus extras. The other problem is that you are inundated with emails and phone calls when you just want to find out what companies are interested and what the likely costs would be. Other comparison sites for insurance, utilities, etc do not have this issue.”

“Good platform but don’t like the way it displays a competitive price only for it to be inflated once you proceed. Would much rather see the price for the complete service- no hidden extras.”

“A very quick response received from 4 different surveyors but no quote supplied from Duxburys just a message to say price TBA. Also their address shows :- 1,Kingsway,Ansdell but I visited the address and they do not exist there.”

“The checklists and general information articles are very helpful. Be cautious of requesting quotes from the different services as you will be spammed relentlessly by emails and phone calls from the companies who provide quotes. There really should be the option to have quotes without the constant barrage of contact attempts.”

“Probably OK if you want a generic conveyancer that covers the country , with a simple freehold house. But if you have leasehold/flat it doesn't give you local solicitors that you can deal with if there any problems (which you normally get from deeds of convent etc;)”

“Great service for online quotes , then followed up with several calls from every single company that quoted. There should be an option to opt out of follow up calls , all I wanted was an indicative quote for budgeting purposes and today I have been inundated with follow ups. Just be aware of the follow ups :-)”

“It was good to get an overall view of the services available and prices. But the many many phone calls, texts and emails after are a pain. I made it clear we are not ready to commit yet. But we have a shortlist and will make contact when we are ready. I requested no more calls but still they come.”
