“I needed a specific guitar part, a vintage Fender pickup switch for my '65 Jazzmaster. Hunted high and low. Found it via Rattle and Hum. Genuine, quality product, excellent price and speedy delivery, very grateful. 10/10, great company.”

“Placed an order over the Christmas season and was advised that it would arrive early Jan. It arrived on 30 Dec which proved yet again that Rattle and Drum always go the extra mile. The drum bag is exactly as ordered. Well done to this great company”

“The drum sticks I ordered arrived in good time, but I was surprised to find a pair still intact in the padded envelope as one end was torn open. The wood tips of the sticks had caused the tear, if someone had taken a fancy to them I would have paid for an empty parcel. Lucky.”

Thanks for your review, we are glad to hear your sticks arrived in good time and as ordered. We send out thousands of sticks a week in the same type of packaging and rarely have issues but please be assured that in the unlikely event of something going missing we would always replace the item at our expense. “Always check the price on the website prior to making purchases. They have tried over charging me numerous times when going in to buy string for my bass. I when I caught them out on this scam, I received free attitude with my purchase. Secondly, when I have asked to pick up and play an instrument, I was abruptly asked if I was going to purchase the instrument - of which I honestly answered, I don’t know, because I haven’t played it - Please bare in mind this was a mid level £400ish Ibanez, not some £2000 American made, custom shop boutique Fender - The salesman responded by telling me no, because if I play it and don’t buy it, the instrument is no longer ‘brand new’ I found this absolutely ridiculous and wouldn’t of even considered the bass brand new myself as it had been hanging on a wall in the shop, and god knows for how long if they don’t even let their customers pick up and play them!!! Would you walk into a car dealer and buy a car without test driving it? I know this store has gone bump at least once In the past and if my experience means anything, it is clear to see why. I only buy from here if I have absolutely no other choice.”

Hi Sam I'm really sorry to hear you are so unhappy with your experience with us. With regards to your issues - 1. Our policy is to price things the same in store as we sell them online, the only time where that wouldn't be the case is if there is a genuine error on our system. If you could please let us know what strings they were I can double check the price is now correct. We would always charge the lower price if an issue like this was identified to us, it seems a bit harsh to suggest we are running an elaborate scam. 2. We absolutely encourage people to try instruments before they consider a purchase, it is the only way to be sure you are getting the right one for you. However, we also have to try to make sure someone is genuinely interested as we have to care for the instruments for their ultimate owners. It is a really tricky balance to strike and it sounds like we got it wrong in this instance so we are very sorry about that. 3. While the building we are in has housed numerous music shops over the years please be assured that Rattle & Drum has never "gone bump", in fact we are celebrating 20 years in business next year. We are an independent Derby based shop so we really care about this kind of stuff, our reputation is critical to us so if you'd like to pop in any time for a chat with one of the owners you'd be welcome any time and we can address your issues in person. “Having trawled the internet for an appropriate gift for my autistic son I eventually decided o some groovy shakers. This led me to rattle and drum. Staff on the phone were courteous and helpful, reassuring me they would arrive in time for christmas and describing them to me. I ordered them online and they arrived really quickly. I'm very pleased with them. They are great quality and I will definitely use rattle and drum again in the future.”

“After looking all over the internet for the item i found Rattle & Drum Music - the item was by far the cheapest anywhere by over £14 even with the postage added on! Order was received incredibly fast and the item was exactly as shown. Really really happy. Will definitely be using these guys again and will be recommending. 10/10”

“First time dealing with Rattle and Drum via their online shop, initially had a problem that the voucher code was not valid, called the number and was plesaed to immediately speak to a real person who was, from the background noise, clearly working in a real music shop. They quickly dealt with the problem in a professional, polite and friendly manner. I received everything I ordered the next day....Result! Highly recommended, and i'll certainly be using them again for all my instrument and accessory needs in the future.”
