I love the fact that you get to pick between two books each month, going by the description and picking what you fancy without the book actually being revealed until you get it in the post. It’s like a wee surprise gift to yourself each month. I could spend hours reading reviews on books and trying to decide what to pick etc before actually buying a book so this is great, new read each month without the fuss!”

“I look forward to my book every month. I know each book will be enjoyable and capture my interest. Sometimes they are books that I see in the bookshops for months afterwards, sometimes ones I will never see again but they will always be good. I have read books I would pick up (I jumped for joy on getting Caitlin Morans new book) and sometimes ones I would never consider and I love that all the more as this was my reason for joining rare birds, to expand what I read. Job done, long may it continue.”

“I am a big reader, but often tend to stick to similar genres etc, and have found being part of this club has massively expanded my tastes. So far with Rare Birds I've read ghost stories, romances, historical fiction, thrillers, laugh-out-loud funny books, and highly praised lit books, which has been amazing, but I also love love love the guided discussions, which make you think about aspects of the book you may have missed. The group discussion board is always fascinating too, with insightful comments that often have me going over the book. If you are looking to break out of some reading patterns, want to kickstart your reading, or just love book discussions, this is a brilliant place to join.”

“Fantastic book club. I had been looking for a way to read more and expand my taste selection as I had started to just read the same books and same authors over and over again. Rare birds is a delight, I get a choice of two books each month (and the chance to buy both at a discount if I want), delivery is fast and efficient and customer service is great! I had felt somewhat concerned that I was reading too many titles by men (and essentially the same two women 'characters') and RBBC has really solved this issue for me. “I was so pleased with my birthday gift of a three months subscription to the Rare Birds Book club from my daughter and son-in-law that I have taken out a rolling subscription. The four books I have received so far are all different but enjoyable in their own way. I like having books 'chosen' for me and find I analyse and consider the stories more than when I buy them.
