“I was very pleased with the service I received from R3 Data Recovery. I was kept informed about progress being made to recover my data at all stages. I was impressed with the no recovery no fee offer as other companies I looked at were more expensive with no guarantee of recovery. I hope it doesn't happen again but if it does R3 will be my first call.”

The were open about what needed to be done, how long it would take and the likelihood of success. Dear Malcolm We priced the work based on the description you gave that the drive was not faulty. "Came up on screen as data recovery in process , put it on charge then went into data recovey mode, then got the reboot screen on a loop " We found that in fact one of the 4 heads on this 1TB Hitachi drive had failed. We requited for the supply of a donor and attempted the rebuild and recovery. The recovery was successful but there was considerable damage to some files due to the extensive software data recovery / power cycling procedures prior to arriving with us. Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I am sorry that our communication fell below those you expected of us. The notes and the progress of the case show this was a difficult and prolonged case due to collection delays, sourcing parts and the additional platter damage caused before the drive arrived with us. For future if your data is important to you and a drive has a fault, stop immediately and get advice before attempting a recovery yourself, or allowing others to perform a recovery on a failing HDD or ssd. “Your service was a million times better than another company who I had previously used (called Fields) who I was told is the 'best in the business' - You retrieved 3.5tb from the drive and Fields only got 1.5tb and most of it was corrupt! - Same drive two out comes and they charged twice the price!!!!”

Many thanks for the review Alan, despite initially being undercut and you sending your drive to Fields Data Recovery(aka Rapid Data, Data Phoenix, DRS Data Recovery Specialists ) we have for almost 10 years out performed their success rates and at a consistently lower average invoice for actual successful recoveries. What has to be understood is R3 has been built to give the scale and expertise of the two largest data recovery businesses in the UK but at an accurate price point from quoting. We will only requite if the situation warrants it. Here our competitor had made very basic errors and actually made our tasks doing the recovery more involved and therefor less profitable. Technically they made much more profit to run their sales and customer services but in reality doing a poorer recovery than we do. R3 continue to stick to our principles of high success rates and quoting as accurately as possible at the outset. I am shocked that Fields charged double the cost for their attempt and we continue to support anyone told their drive is unrecoverable when in fact it just needs the tenacity and expertise team R3.
