Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review Andrew. The Sandisk UltraPlus micro sd card had developed 800 uncorrectable bad sectors out of about 1 million slow reading. This meant a good recovery of 31 million sectors in total. This gave a 99% plus data quality recovery of 7.6GB. Thank you for your review Sapna Your Seagate portable drive from 2014 was a Samsung ST1000LM024 sometimes referred to as a Samgate because it was made during the period when Seagate took over the Samsung hard drive manufacturing business. In this case the drive was confirmed on arrival to be OK, only the USB connection had worn out. R3 provided a safe data transfer recovery for £129+vat plus the cost of a new password-protected drive for the recovered data. "External hard drive port seems broken. Foil part all crumpled inside. Not reading on laptop or computer"

I stupidly didn’t pay extra for iCloud storage for the last two years and was using Google photos to save all my photos. I got an upgrade to an iPhone 12 via EE just before Christmas and realised when I put my sim in the new phone that my photos hadn’t been uploading correctly. I purchased more iCloud storage and attempted to back up all my data onto iCloud from my iPhone 8 so I could transfer it successfully to my new phone. It was at this point the iPhone 8 stopped working and has just been showing a blank screen with the apple icon. I have not seen any error messages and although the phone I am sending in has a cracked screen, this has never stopped the phone from working before (the screen has been broken for about 3 months). All I am really hoping you can get back is all my photos - I don’t really care about any of the other data as I have restored all my old apps on my new phone. My son is almost 3 and I have essentially lost 2 years worth of photos of him so really hoping you can help and restore every photo and video saved on the phone."

Thank you for your review Adam. You were fortunate to find R3 Data Recovery. "Card is a Micro SDXC, its been in use on my Android smartphone for a couple of years. Contents are mostly photos, some video files and music collection. Card had been working fine and then phone gave an error following restart that "card needs formatting". I extracted it and tried accessing it via a reader on my laptop which didn't detect the card at all." The card had developed bad sectors to the point is was corrupting the file system and some of the data. Hi Ahemed Glad we could help with the recovery of your 11 year old Western Digital WD10EADS-11M2B3 Green, it had put in a good service. The slow response was solved by our engineers without the need for a rebuild and without the need for an extended bad sector recovery being less than a quarter full. The service was provided at £159+vat on a 24-72hr service plus costs for a new portable drive and return shipping. The miss communication was that I had also quoted the 4 - 6 day service at £129+vat Whilst the speed of the case may have appeared to be fast and easy, the processing still required our expertise, resources and procedures to deliver a full recovery and return the data securely on a password protected 1TB Westen Digital MyPasspot. “My heart sank when my old 2GB flash drive 'died', knowing there was a lot of important and historical data on there. Advice from a family friend led me to R3 and I'm so glad I entrusted the recovery with them. The majority has been recovered with several corrupt files but I have the main ones I was hoping for! The service has been exceptional - extremely prompt response to my initial inquiry, excellent communication and customer service throughout, and organised collection and return of the drive. I shall learn by my mistake and make regular backups but I shall certainly know where to go if needed again! I can't thank the whole team enough.”

Hi Samantha The old memory stick had served well but needed a NAND chip read to recover the data. "The device appears to be dead. I have tried recovering the data using software but failed." Unfortunately, the FAT32 file system was damaged and so only a raw recovery was possible but the data was in good condition and could be moved back into a recreated folder structure. Thank you for your review. I am sorry we did not communicate how factors out of our control caused interruptions in our workflow, communications and affected the time taken to process your case. The first collection arranged failed and it took a week to arrive from your first enquiry, It arrived on Thursday and the SSD was removed from the MacBook Air. The next day Friday it was assigned to an engineer and diagnosed as having a failing Samsung SSD. He continued processing the recovery from the Monday but that week was also moving home after the long lockdown that he had worked through but had prevented him from finding a new house. By the end of the week, the work was well underway and the bad sectors were slow reading and needed time to process. He needed to finish early on that Friday to take possession of the keys and start the move over the weekend. This was the last time I saw him alive. He was found dead on Monday morning. We were in shock... This followed one of our support technicians who had died several weeks before, this was despite him being kept away from the lab for 15 months and double jabbed. We had thought the end of the pandemic restrictions were over and the safe working processes had protected us from the worst of the pandemic. Your case was reassigned to another engineer but we did have to allow time for all in the team to deal with the loss of a friend, colleague and good person. Both were fathers and family providers who had been with the company for over 5 years. All in R3 are members of a hard-working team but not immune to the effects the world has presented and sorry we could not at the time explain the situation. The recovery was still carried out to the maximum quality of data possible. These Samsung SSD are not designed to be recovered and required time of specialist equipment requiring regular monitoring and adjustments by the engineers assigned. As you can see from our reviews we work to protect data and run one of the highest success rate data recovery labs in the UK and remain a team dedicated to helping those in their hour of need. I hope this open and honest reply helps you understand that we continued to deliver on our work and the recovery quality was not a result of the situation we found ourselves in.
