“I would have liked better updates on the progress of my order, which took a while longer due to Christmas. The plastic bag it comes in which if breached invalidates returns was already torn open a bit.”
“I rate Putnams products highly however the despatch and delivery times are atrocious! I have purchased two seat cushions and one headrest in the last month, one of those I paid the extra £8 next day delivery, the other two items took 2 weeks to be despatched. So if an item can be despatched the next day for an extra £8 why can other items be despatched in day 3 days for included delivery! I wouldn’t buy from again due to this and I wouldn’t keep paying an extra £8 just to get a near £50 item in a reasonable timeframe, it should be despatched quickly anyway.”
Hi Craig, I understand your disappointment, our dispatch times are normally just a few days. We do make every order by hand once it is ordered but since Christmas we haven't been able to keep up with order volumes despite taking on an extra seamstress before Christmas and one at the beginning of January (we are still looking for more but they are hard to find as it is a dying industry in Devon/the UK as a whole). I apologise you were not happy with dispatch on this occasion but we are trying to fix the problem and I am pleased you do like the products once they are made. - B Putnam

“I purchased a wool knee pillow which we are really enjoying as a oroduct. However, I ordered in what I thought was in good time for a Christmas present and when it failed to arrive a week beforehand I contacted Putmans and was told that there was a two week lead in for manufacture. I was relying on the present and although I was given a discount, I was unhappy that this had not been made clear on the ordering page. I was told that this was described on another general page of the website, but I hadn’t the time to read all about the company so was put in a difficult position in regard to the present’s absence on Christmas Day!! To improve your service you should make this very clear on your ordering page as there was absolutely no reference to this and if I’d seen it I wouldn’t have ordered your product as a present. I support lots of aspects of your company, but this really should be made clear on the ordering page with a link to further information about timings.”
