“I bought the chicken deboned and stuffed with sage & onion, the chicken was delicious but the stuffing was not seasoned at all thas why i only gave it 4 stars. Next time i will mix some softened butter with garlic and salt and put this under the skin. Also i will add a chopped lemon and some rosemary around the chicken inside the tin foil. This will make it delicious. The cooking instructions Pipers Farm gave were perfect but do take it out of fridge 1 hr before cooking.”

“Very nice meat - I made a lovely shoulder of mutton curry. The website stated many items were out of stock, there were no estimated dates for being back in stock. Also, the website could be clearer on the fact that the meat will arrive frozen. I didn't realise this and only found the info when I searched for it.”

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by items being out of stock without estimated restock dates, there is the option to be notified via email when these items do come back in as we do work with small, local farms so various cuts are coming in at different times. I apologise if you did not find it clear that your items would arrive frozen, we do state this on each product under the 'How to Store' section but we do understand that this can easily be missed at times. “Yet again another great delivery from Pipers Farm. I am never disappointed with the quality of the meat, the care with which everything is portioned and packaged and how neatly everything is wrapped up in their wonderful fleece bags with cold packs. They use DPD which I have always found very reliable and with a very easy to use website, what's not to like?”

“I love Pipers Farm. I can order meat that has high welfare at the front of it's production. The meat comes packaged conveniently for 2 of us, I can order bigger packs if we need them. It all arrives safely packaged and frozen. If you want to eat meat buy it from Pipers Farm, it won't be any more expensive than supermarkets and there is no assurance as to welfare on supermarket meat. Even the RSPCA assurance isn't worth the paper it's written on it seems.”

“I have used Pipers farm a few times now.. The produce they sell is amazing and so😋. My recent order was a mix of items, minced beef(not yet tried), a selection of sausages and so far have tried the pork and black pudding, and omg they are totally out of this world, I think they should make chipolatas to the same recipe for Xmas,( with or without the blankets on).. The everyday steak was perfect and really tender..I still have a selection of pies and curry to try and I am fully confident they will be perfect too. I will shortly be ordering for Xmas as the previous Xmas things have been georgeous.. I would also like to try their milk, it's popular as it was out of stock when I placed my order.. As for delivery etc it's faultless!!”

“The beef short ribs were delicious. Lots of meat on the bone. The only issue i have is their size which is about 10cm long. I had to take them to a local butcher to have them cut in half for the right portion size per person. If they’re shorter its much easier to fit in a pot.”

“I would like to hear how animals are treated humanely and with respect at the point of slaughter as well as how they are kept during their lifetime. I think many people become vegetarian because they cannot cope with the way animals are treated. My feeling is if animals have as natural a life as possible, the environment is given consideration (soil, hedgerows, wildlife etc) and the end of life is as least stressful as possible then meat CAN be an occasional treat and enjoyed. Of course if you're raising a young family you probably don't have the extra money it costs or the time to give it any thought, unfortunately. I wish High Welfare Meat was available in supermarkets and labelled as such - and the public could feel confident that the label was genuine.”

We believe that when it comes to meat it is vital to eat meat produced in harmony with nature, with respect for the animal and respect for the planet, if this means, due to affordability, that you eat one quality meat meal a week instead of 7 meat meals using factory farmed meat, the better it is for your health, the health of the planet and the health of those animals. As farmers, we are part of nature, a complex system that requires an unwavering respect for all natural life. Death too is part of nature, and by disconnecting ourselves from this only opens the door to abuse. If we do not properly scrutinise every part of the rearing and processing of meat we are opening ourselves up to increasing domination of factory and globalised food production. Best Wishes, James
