“I’m typing these letters in Dubai, waiting for my flight connection. But those memories in England with Oxford Royale and ASDAN will always live in my heart when I return to my home country, or even when I fly up to space in the future! An Oxford Royale summer school was really a masterpiece in my dreams. Engagement, pleasure and involvement are felt and innovations was made by me. It is extraordinarily amazing that a class could really make me feel so much progress and such deep involvement in such short period of time. Thanks to the active classes and the enlightening style provided by Oxford Royale, I could let myself feel free to explore the entire world of academic knowledge. Thanks Oxford that provides me with such great experiences! I certainly have to talk about the different class experiences I’ve had in the curriculums. Classes are shown in comprehensive and vivid methods. I’ve received much more information in these classes than back to my hometown and amazingly I caught all the points in classes, thanks to the structuralized textbooks and the efforts the professor has made. Plus, Oxford Royale has given me a positive introduction to English-style class. Taught in classes with less than 20 people, students are taken care of carefully and points of views are spread out in a free way. The western education system is of better variety and it stresses motivation more than Chinese classes do. In class, short interruptions that are contributive to the development are accepted and new topics of extension produced in this way is a shining point of Oxford as long as the advanced and mature teaching mode. I could CERTAINLY recommend Oxford Royale to students, especially those from China. Following my professor, Mr. Graham Cowgill, who has been with abundant, professional background experience and ultimate patience to explain and quote the basic theories of economy, so as to lead a beginner like me to enter this world of business and enterprise. Through his detailed explanations, varied extended resources provided, enlightening and orderliness schedule of curriculum, I was able to have the courage to face difficulties. To conclude, I’ve met and followed a very unforgettable and significant professor. The most significant memory with my professor is the initiative helps he provides me with. Project is a damn difficult thing, to be frank. The most important factor is where to where to put hands into the whole thing. Graham just got into my team and did some checking and vital points were raised. When business analysis were done in the mission, he just came and asked about each feature of the product, giving inspiring questions that are firmly linked to the business world and academic contents in the textbook. Facing his questions the group made reassignments and new designs and the final results proved to be satisfactory. That is different from most teachers who directly provide answers. Another shining point of Graham is his encouragement and support after class. Each time I ask questions, he would always provide informative explanations and adopt the inspiring way giving lectures. Sometimes his writings on the board, or on my student’s guide, could be even more informative and complex than those written on class. Perhaps my courage and interest of business is enhanced by his effort of help, and through which I activate my full effort and focus, getting the Effort Prize finally. I’ve talked a lot about academic things. However, though it is called an “academy”, what Oxford Royale covers is much more than academic advances. Activities for fun and for extra curriculum knowledge considerably enhanced the trip’s delight. Model Stocks and Share Market gave me the first practice of my course, though the loop playback of background music “GDFR” and “Low” indicated my results as a beginner; the Great ORA debate and the MUN told me that I still have to be humble even facing debating and political issues which I considered I was skilled in. Tours and dance parties were formed in the ways I had never experienced before, giving me a new way to explore and free myself. Oxford Royale is also great for its student body. Students from more than 100 countries filled the whole campus. To a large extent, this is one of the most challenging and interesting part when I was staying in Oxford. Learning about “Bonjour”, “heavy industry” and talking about “blocked Google”, we put down our prejudice, living deliberately, living deep, and smudging the marrows and the extremes in our lives and views – quite educational. There are so much fantastic experiences in Oxford Royale that they could not be concluded, neither to be listed. Thanks Oxford Royale that has given me such a fascinating experience, putting a dent in my universe.”

“During my two weeks with ORA, I felt welcomed by friendly, helpful and enthusiastic ORA staff, especially the junior deans and counsellors. Lessons were always interesting and the teachers were all passionate about the subject they were teaching. I learned many things that I never had the chance to do so in school. There were times when I found lessons to be challenging yet rewarding. Not to mention, attending summer school at ORA gave me the opportunity to make friends with people coming from different countries and backgrounds. I never thought I could make good, lifelong friends, in two weeks time, with people I just met. Lastly, I really enjoyed my time at ORA. It might be a little intimidating to think that you will be spending part of your summer vacation doing something so academic, but based on my two weeks experience, I think there is great balance between studying and having fun at ORA. In fact, it is almost impossible to not have an amazing time. Although the first two days felt long, two weeks flew by so quickly that I was actually sad to leave.”

“The lessons were not as good as expected, arts and architecture in specific was a HUGE disappointment, we didn't even get to touch a piece of paper during the workshop. I had the impression that some teachers were not qualified enough to do their job, as they were also collaged students from Oxford I felt like they weren't as engaged to the lesson as the ORA students. Some counselors were extremely rude at all times. Also, I felt like Ron wasn't principled enough with us students to be in his position. There is a handful of counselors that I really liked and would like to thank for being so considerate with our issues, especially Rachel, Izzie and Sophie (or Sofia, don't remember). Overall, the only good thing that I experienced out of this camp was the amount of worldwide friends that I made, whom I know will last a lifetime. But you can make friends anywhere, so I recommend enrolling your child in another summer program in Oxford, as there are much more to choose.”

“ORA was definitely an amazing experience! I took the Introduction to Medicine course and I learned so much, as I had an enthusiastic teacher! We were all so excited to learn it was a great experience. Outside the classrooms we all got along so quickly on the first day and by the end of the 2 weeks we didn't want to leave the family we made.”
