“I’m not sure how to feel about these. I wanted to return them but paying postage etc wouldn’t have made it worth it. The sippy lids aren’t particularly stable and accidentally ordered extra because I didn’t realise they came with the toddle weening bottles. They don’t seem to function well as described but simply as baby bottles they’re fine. The nipple is really nice. Very mom like. The colours are beautiful. The thermos/snack(?) container lid aspect is great and I didn’t realise it came with it. The description of the bottles and their functions could be more clear with clearer pictures on the website but for the discounted price they’re okay! Nice to not be feeding baby out of plastic as well as the plastic is only on the outer aspects of the bottles.”

“I like the bottles, but if dropped the lids break very easily. I have replaced the lids, but won't if they break again”

Thank you for your review. We are delighted to hear you like the bottles and are so sorry to hear this. We use polypropylene for the caps, as it is easily recyclable and the safest plastic that doesn’t leach any unhealthy toxins into your drinks. This does make the material slightly more brittle than softer plastics, which have a shorter span of recycling and leach unhealthy toxins into your drinks. If dropped many times it can then break. Our warranty covers manufacturing issues, but not accidental damage, such as falls. We are proud to offer replacement parts, which a lot of our competitors do not, as we want to promote sustainability, and fixing rather than replacing culture. If you are concerned that your bottle is likely to be dropped, we recommend caps like our all-steel cap. As a B Corp business, we ensure nothing needs to go into landfill. Many thanks

“I bought a coffee cup as my wife had one and I liked it's quality. I bought the same one for that reason, but when it arrived it was of lesser quality to hers - it seemed like there had been a cheapening of materials in the 2 years from when she bought hers. Nothing huge, just a weaker plastic lid, a lower grade metal. Her's is much nicer to drink from but mine has that plasticy taste I was trying to avoid.”

“500ml Banana Evolution V2 stainless steel bottle – botl – metal water bottle with straw cap. The bottle itself is great (leak proof, nice colour, keeps cool). However, the website advertises purchasing the matching sports cap when you buy this bottle, so I assumed it didn't come with this - it turns out it does, so I now have two caps. I also ordered a Sloop loop, which is advertised as fitting the Evolution bottles, but neither my partner or I could get it to fit onto the bottle.”

Thank you for your review. We are so sorry to hear you are disappointed. We regularly look for UK/European manufacturing bases for our products. So far, we have not identified any genuine UK/European stainless steel bottle manufacturing base. Our manufacturer is based in Zhejiang, China and they maintain quality management systems and environmental management. The code of conduct in these specifications includes 11 fundamental principles based on the International Labour Organisation standards and the UN Charter of Human Rights regulations. The company is audited for working hours and compensation, occupational health and safety, protection for young workers, bonded labour, freedom of association, ethical business behaviour, discrimination and environmental protection. We have an independent Chinese-based quality team who are always on hand and able to visit regularly. All materials are tested to monitor material compliance and chemical composition. All products are manufactured under the licence of their FDA and LFGB food safety certification and EU Regulation 10:2011. This ensures BPA/BPS non-leaching food-safe materials and that there are no impurities, contaminants or toxins. “I love the fact that I can buy replacement lids for the bottles to hugely extend their life. But I do think £10 per lid is too much, especially as they dont last brilliantly. (they're use by my children mostly so get used for school daily). The 'hinge' area gets mouldy quickly even though I wash them out and dry them regularly. So I tried to clean them and the hinged bit snapped off. But they arrived quickly and otherwise all fine, and as I said, I shall keep buying from them because I love the idea of a metal bottle that lasts forever.”

“After quite a long wait (I believe it was the Royal Mails fault) my bottle cap arrived. Hard to understand the very high cost of this product, but of course the bottle was useless without the cap, so I had to buy it.”

“The products are nice. But I was disappointed with the shopping experience. I was buying a replacement lid and couldn't work out what colour I needed for my 'milk' evolution bottle as they all look similar on the website. I tried to get advice using the chat function but this was unhelpful. So I ended up ordering the wrong colour which was disappointing.”

“Bottles are robust and attractive, however I found customer service lacking. I was struggling with loud sipping and small amounts of water being sucked up, after following the FAQ information I emailed the give contact for further help but did not receive a response and ended up buying a new cap as I was finding it so frustrating to drink from. Hopefully this one lasts longer than the first.”

“I am a repeat buyer because it's hard to find small metal bottles for kids to use and they tick that box. But they're really not perfect. After 2 years, half of the paint has come off one of the two bottles that we own, leaving it look such a mess that I've had to buy my son a new one. I'd have hoped for more from such an expensive purchase. Maybe it's not dishwasher proof? But who has time to hand wash kids water bottles every day?! Also, the nobbles on the flip straws on all three lids we've owned have broken off not long after purchase. I've just had to accept this is what happens.”

Thanks for your review, and I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. As a B Corp eco-conscious company, we wouldn’t use packaging that cannot be recycled. Therefore, we hope that our card packaging protects products and does go into recycling. We are pleased we can provide spare caps, so people do not have to buy a whole new bottle. The cost associated with products is not only the design, production, and packaging but shipping cost too. The caps are bulky and the cost for us to ship them is nearly half of the cost of what you see as the product's cost. We try our best to not pass on all the cost of postage to our customers and try to stay competitively priced. If there is an issue with the item after purchase, we have a 12-month warranty. “Having waited a while to buy my One Green Bottle I am only moderately satisfied! Reason being that what I need is a carry strap but if I do (if I can find a matching colour) I will have to pay extra. Fairly essential as the bottle is rather too wide to hold!”

“My order arrived quickly and I was pleased with the recyclable packaging. The products seem good quality. I did feel slightly let down as I purchased an all steel tough canteen, and despite double checking the description (which said that bottles are supplied with new classic sports cap as standard) mine arrived with a screw cap. If I had known this before I would have purchased an additional cap at the same time and received a discount on a bundle deal, as it is now have to purchase one at full price, pay postage and hope that it arrives before this weekend. I also wish the vegan leather bottle carrier was not one size fits all, as my 1200ml canteen only just squeezes into it and it's a tight fit to get my phone into the pouch.”

“I bought a 70cm jelly base for my 70 cm bottle, but unfortunately it didn't fit- it is hard to tell what fits what bottle. The form to report it as faulty (I had a photo of it with space around the base) didn't work, so in the end I returned it at my own cost & hope to receive reimbursement for the item at least. Live chat didn't help & received an email 2 days later, by which time I had posted it. My bottle is quite old, but in honour of sustainability I keep replacing its top. Once the bottle is no longer usable I will probably replace with another brand.”

Our customer service rep was in communication with yourself, and advised you can return the item, as we don't state in the description of the product that it would fit your bottle. In the description we specify which bottle's they fit. As soon as we get the product back we will refund you for the item, as long as the item is unused and in original packaging. “Handy that you're able to order replacement parts, as my son's lid/plastic spout had cracked after falling on the floor. Great product. Have purchased a second bottle for other son. Took over one month to arrive with two emails to chase up order. Would be handy if this lead time was stated when purchasing.”

Hi there, so sorry to hear this. We use polypropylene to make the caps as these are the most readily recyclable, also no nasty leaching chemicals. Due to this fact they can be more brittle if knocked and dropped many times. We do have other spare steel caps and knob caps which are more hard wearing if they are prone to falls. I hope this helps? “Really hard to see the true colour of the bottles and sloop handles on the website so ended up ordering one that was totally the wrong colour. No free returns either so will have to pay to send it back as well as pay for shipping. Bottles themselves are nice but quite expensive”

Thanks for your review, and sorry to hear you feel this way. We very rarely hear of issues with the colours on the website. We try to ensure the colours are true to real life in the imagery. It can be difficult when viewing on various contrast screens and from a pc, to a phone to an iPad for example. Screen contrasts can make a difference. “I do love the bottles, they are great. Have one for me and one for my daughter. It's also great to be able to buy extra lids BUT, I find they break very easily and often, a small drop and the lid cracks and then it leaks. I have bought numerous new tops for both mine and my daughters.”

Hi Rachel, Thanks for your review and glad to hear you love the bottles. Regarding the caps we use polypropylene which can be more brittle, and if frequently dropped can break as this material doesn't have the leachy toxins in like other plastics. It is also more readily recyclable which is more eco friendly. We do have metal caps and knob caps which are more hardy for knocks and falls. I hope this helps? Thanks

“I love One Green Bottle, however, I am forever having to buy new bottle tops as they break easily. I currently have 5 bottles that my children use for school and I find them ideal, particularly in the summer as it keeps their drinks cold throughout the school day. However, I may have to look for an alternative moving forward because the added expense of repkacing the lid/caps means they are no longer cost-effective for me, which is a shame.”
