“When buying new glasses frames, I perused several websites online. I was particularly impressed with the Newlenses.co.uk website, as compared to other websites. In a competitive market, which this is, making comparisons is inevitable. What I liked in particular was the ease of viewing of frames online, and their specifications, as well as the very straightforward ordering system, including the summary at the end, where you can check the work that you entered. Entering a glasses prescription online could be considered to be a complex task for some, but Newlenses.co.uk give you the option of either emailing, or entering the prescription directly, depending on what suits you, matched with very fast customer service email responses, unlike other companies which can take weeks to reply instead of days. The Newlenses.co.uk BOGOF (Buy One Get One Free) offer was also very easy to navigate. Some other companies do this offer, but it is hidden within the depths of their website, making it very difficult to activate. The glasses arrived in hard cases, which were cushioned at the top. I have worn glasses for many years, and was impressed by these hard cases with a cushioned top, as opposed to solely plastic cases. The packaging was also very good, in jiffy bags, and well sealed. I was also provided with a Royal Mail tracking number and could see status updates from the account page on the website, so I knew when to expect the frames, and when the work was completed. I found the frames to be of very good quality when they arrived, and the lenses. Faced with the choice of going to an opticians to buy glasses, or shopping online, I think that using the internet for research is inevitable in both cases. If you go into a store, it helps to have viewed some glasses online in advance, but stores are often busy, and staff can only help you for a few minutes. I feel that the experience of glasses shopping online is no different, as you can take your time to view the frames in detail, and most importantly the measurements, to make sure that you receive a perfect fit. As long as you have a pair of glasses that you are comfortable with, with the measurements inside the frame, and your up to date prescription at hand (preferably typed), then as long as you enter the information correctly on the website, there should be no reason whatsoever why you do not receive excellent results, as I have. I took advantage of the two for one offer, and ordered two frames of the same prescription, but with slightly different compositions/specifications (coatings/lens thickness). I felt that the company dealt very well with specific requirements when ordering two pairs of glasses with different specifications. In the past, when I have attempted this task in-store, I received two frames at the same time, but one which gave me huge headaches, that had to be reglazed, which did solve the problem. No problems with this service from Newlenses.co.uk for a similar task. Both frames were delivered to me as to how I had requested them to be online. As long as you take time to view all the information on the website, and make sure that you enter all the information asked correctly, and take more time to select which coatings you require, I doubt that you will be disappointed. With a similar experience in-store, I think that you can find yourself rushed, as staff have other people waiting. I personally would prefer the luxury of viewing items online (and making sure that the frame measurements I am ordering match exactly those of the frames that I currently have, that fit well on my face), than standing for ages in-store, with other people there. Similarly, once I have my legible prescription, and accurate glasses measurements, I personally would feel a great deal more comfortable entering the complex information required on the website myself, in my own time than ordering in a very busy store. Mistakes do of course happen everywhere, but I like the idea of very carefully researching frames that match the measurements of my current frames, in my own time, and entering my prescription information (preferably from a typed prescription) very carefully electronically by my own hand. The Newlenses.co.uk website provides you with very detailed measurements of each frame on their website, and so all you need is to know your frame dimensions and prescription to order. Newlenses.co.uk also replied very quickly to my emails, with excellent customer service, making shopping online a pleasure. Providing that everything goes smoothly (including using a good computer, with a reliable internet connection), there is no reason whatsoever that you should not receive excellent service, and excellent products, all for less than half the price than retail/optician shops. I am also aware that the company accepts free returns by post for minor adjustments, similar to when you order from a store, e.g. if there has been a mistake in coating, or other issue that requires corrections. e.g. fittings. Consequently, I feel very feel confident about sending frames in the future to Newlenses.co.uk for reglazing when the time comes, after another eye test is due. I also believe that any difficulties that people may experience, with this very easy to use website can be answered rapidly, and effectively by email, unlike other companies, who can take a long time to reply. If you are going to be wearing glasses for many years, and only make frame purchases, or reglaze very rarely, then it is definitely worth taking the time to ensure that you find excellent service, matched by a very easy and straightforward ordering system, including robust delivery procedures. To be frank, I have little sympathy for those who, by their own admission ordered the wrong product/coating, as this website has a very comprehensive summary at the end of the ordering system, where you can check your work before you confirm the order, and pay. In fact, we should thank the company for bending over backwards to make amends for these customer induced errors. If you are capable of following the online order to completion, including taking time to view the different frames on offer, then clearly you have a very reliable internet connection, so cannot blame your internet provider for a disappointing final product, if that is what you receive. Neither am I sorry for writing such a long review, because if you are capable of reading it through to completion, then you are more than capable of ordering glasses online, and following the instructions on the website. Well Done Newlenses.co.uk & keep up the good work.”

“Horrified yet again by quotes for new lenses and frames, and particularly new lenses in old frames, I looked online for an alternative option. The reviews were encouraging and the cost was half the high street prices. A bit nervous about investing such a lot of money into an unknown service, BUT I could not have been more pleased. Excellent product and great customer service. I highly recommend Newlenses.”

“This is my first pair of varifocals so wasn't sure what to expect. New Lenses were very quick to reply to my enquiries and explained exactly what information they needed. I found them very polite and pleasant to deal with and my glasses came back within about a week. I had the premium varifocals and got used to them very quickly which was a relief. I wouldn't hesitate to use New Lenses again and have recommended them to others. Thanks again for a great service.”
