“Mine was a small order of just 3 rolls of Supersoft recycled-plastic insulation – needed to block the howling gale coming from under our kitchen cabinets. Hi Andrew, Thank you for your review and your comment. We decided to ask Thermafleece the question please see below. 'Plastic is necessary for packing quilted natural insulation. At present there is no alternative material available that provides protection for our products during transit and storage on site. We are constantly reviewing this position but the state of the art currently leaves us no viable option. In our case, not only does plastic packaging protect the product, it also enables us to compress the insulation greatly reducing packaging waste and carbon miles from factory gate to site. We use recycle code 4 LDPE for all our packaging. Most of our insulation is compress packed in order to minimise packaging. Compress packing also enables us to reduce the thickness of packaging. The packaging weight per sq.m of 100mm Thermafleece CosyWool is 22g per sq.m. This compares to the packaging weight per sq.m of so called 100% wool which is more than 80g per sq.m. Our packaging waste is around a quarter of that from alternative brands of natural insulation. By compress packing Thermafleece we use 50% less lorry space when transporting our products. In addition, we manufacture in the UK. This means that the carbon miles from gate to site for our products is on average 6 to 7 times less than equal amounts of other imported products.

“We placed a domestic order of Thermafleece Cosywool insulation with very short lead time after making a snap decision to not go with mineral wool. Mark at Natural Insulations was really helpful in the process, giving guidance on how to measure, the size and coverage we would need. This was very useful as total novices. When I was worried if our delivery would come on time their communication was excellent. Though the north east was covered in snow, you clearly get what you pay for with delivery with these guys as the driver went above and beyond to get the delivery to us. We completed the install this weekend and found the product easy to install and it barely created any mess in the process. Looking forward to using this on future projects!”

“Very helpful and knowledgeable when I initially contacted them. Subsequent calls were equally helpful. I made my order and the first part of my order came a day earlier that expected which was good then the second part a day later than expected but was soon sorted when I enquired after its whereabouts. It was the next drop and arrived safely. The loose fill insulation went a lot further than I imagined it would so we have 4,nearly 5 bags over. My son will be able to use it so not a problem. The roll too went further so I have 2rolls spare but I have another roof I can use it in so not a problem at all. All in all an excellent service and excellent product. We feel warmer already.
