“it facilitates jobs to be posted to trades in one place. just another online job posting site”

“I have advertised a job through My Job Quote and got a trader to repair my fence. The trader didn't do a proper job and he lied and deceived me out of my money. I have tried to talk to the tradesman but no answer so therefore I have complained to the fore mention company on four occasions asking them to intervine and investigate the problem. Their answer was that they are not responsible and refuze to do anything, although I got the tradesman through their website and I assumed they were vetted by My Job Quote. I do not recommend this company as they can not be trusted and not helpful at all if things go wrong. Date of experience: 17 December 2024”

“I was desperate for a plumber and the festive season was fast approaching As a last resort, I tried check a trade D Brankin replied and came out the following day I decided, for peace of mind, to have the existing shower removed and a new one installed The quote was more than I was expecting but was desperate to resolve the problem Due to the time of year, I left them to choose the new unit and explained the difficulty with cleaning and upkeep to be as accessible as possible I spoke at length of the issues I'd had with others and felt confident to go ahead They arrived on the due date and time and was left to do the job On first inspection the unit looked big clumsy and cheep, I left until the following day to clean and wasn't happy about the sealant, it didn't appear finished off or neat It was 3 week before i noticed the sealant was wet on the outside I phoned them and they came out within a couple of days I asked why they had sealed inside the shower when I had spoken with them about this before they started the work They said they were covering marks from the old showerbut yet insisted this was the same size Contradicted themselves several times £740 I paid and now I'm so upset They have been today and resealed and it just looks old nothing like a new shower So now I'm hoping this works, if not , I will review this”

“I employed Christian from Pro Builders to lay laminate flooring on a very small cloak room/toilet approx 2.7m. The job was done on 6 May 2022 but not at all to our satisfaction. There is an unsightly black line right in front where two panels join which can be seen as soon as the toilet door is opened. Initially before payment I did not notice this awful line and I paid Christian the agreed price of £150 plus another £30 for good measure. As soon as Christian moved away from the toilet door I noticed the line as it was right in front of me and I pointed it out to him. His answer was that it would come right after it dried. This was nonsense. Also after having paid him £180 he wanted another £24 saying that it was for 2 tubes of paste each costing £12 - ie FS4 Fireshield AC Acoustic Acrylic Sealant. On checking on Amazon it was £5.94 a tube. Obviously I did not give him any more money. He then went away. I sent him a text 24 hrs after he had done the job and informed him that the ghastly black line was still there. I have had no reply. Iwill now have to buy more flooring and find another tiler to do the job since it is quite unacceptable as it is. I am not familiar with uploading photos but I can send them on what's app if I am sent a mobile number. This is a very bad experience”

“My job was posted and done just fine. The only issue is the UI. I'm also a web developer and the website is terribly hard to use for me. You can post a job, take quote just fine. 1. But to see history messages, or to see reviews replies, there is just no way. I just can't find it. 2. The job status is another confusing thing. The status is just "closed" automatically even when it's not done. I didn't even know if I can leave review after the job is "closed". Then I decided to try, and surprisingly, I can. After the review, the status is "reviewed". Well, now I need to assume "reviewed" means job done. 3. Under "My Account" section, there is a "Notification" menu, and it's not for my notifications. It's for my notification setting. Few more confusing elements on the website, but I can only say it's very poorly designed.”

“What worries me is that My Job Quote has a lot of Companies on their books but they have not been checked out by them fully. Out of six Companies I contacted when I had to ask about full public liability Insurance two stopped answering my emails or said they would not want to go further. Two just gave a verbal figure at that point of visit with no back up in writing of the cost mentioned or what they were suppling for the cost. I feel My Job Quote needs Companies that have been checked out by them up front to give the Customer more confidence and if they want to be on My Jobs Books they should always give a cost and what they are going to do in writing. I did have some good feed back from some other Companies.”

“Problem identified and rectified very efficiently. The bill was high, but that may be because I wanted it sorting on New Year Eve? The problem then recurred about 6 weeks later, so am back to square one. I am disabled and this problem is extremely inconvenient for me.”

“No trade interest for basic plastering job. from wither yourselves or rated people. Either not enough tradesmen use the site or they dont want to pay per enquiry. Found real radesman elsewhere.”
