Sent them a perfect condition MacBook Pro, Sat delivered at their warehouse for 7 days before being "logged in to their system" 20 minutes later another email received saying the screen was smashed and offering me £60, not the £363.00 original offer. Declined it and have had it retuned to me (so far the only part of the whole process that has worked as advertised!) MacBook has arrived back in perfect condition as sent, and has been sold for £150 more than they offered me originally on Facebook Market place. No replies to any email complaints sent to them. Will avoid in the future.

Sent my phone in perfect condition. They offered £303 did the testing and said It had heavy damage to the casing and they reviewed the offer and offered £83.00 for an iPhone X. A complete insult and farce having to now wait for it to be sent back to me.

Embarrassingly bad pick up service. My first attempt at using musicMagpie was absolutely rubbish. I got a fair valuation for some games and film etc. Selected the courier pick up option for next day. (sadly Hermes). Note, This is promised as anywhere between 8am and 8pm ! Kept an eye out all day. No pickup! Email to customer service gets a reply (a day and a half later) “ok when would like it picked up then?’ My response ‘tomorrow”. Next reply, a day later, was ‘no, we need 24 hours notice, our next available slot is in 4 days’ (including weekend) (!!!) I begrudgingly accepted and this was confirmed. Guess what, same again, no pickup! Follow up email still hasn’t been answered in 48 hours... Absolutely useless, we can blame Hermes, maybe, either way, musicMagpie are not to be trusted!

i recently ordered some books from musicmagpie, to make lockdown more bearable. One of the books i was sent was covered in blood. Now, this isnt great at the best of times, however, during a pandemic; i feel like this would warrant more than just a standard form response. Since music magpie dont have a customer service number, everything has had to be done by email. I have been corresponding with them all day, getting standard response after standard response. They have refunded me for the book and offered me 30% off my next order (which again may or may not be covered in Biohazard and/or people parts). They have also asked me to 'dispose of book'. Meaning, i'm without the book i ordered, but i at least get 30% off if i want to roll the dice and place another order with them. I've been offered no compensation or vouchers for being sent a book covered in blood that could be infected with Coronavirus, during the middle of a pandemic I decided i wasnt happy with this resolution, and asked which ombudsman they answer to, so i can lodge a formal complaint. I have now asked 5 times which ombudsman they answer to, and they are refusing to tell me, saying that they have escalated this issue internally.

Absolutely disgusting customer service, they sold me an xbox 360 that doesn't work, took pictures of the screen to show them that not even 5 minutes into the game it stops. Sent back for a refund, they now say they haven't received it back yet I have my proof of posting, sent them a picture of the receipt and guess what, no reply and no refund! And now I've just received a notification that the game I purchased has been relisted! Not happy at all, will never be using their company ever again. By the looks of the reviews I'm not the only one.

Sounds like a con to me ! I sent a perfectly working iPhone XR only 1 year old in bubble wrap and in the original box. Offered went from £340 all the way down to £90 because apparently the screen is completely cracked/ smashed. This seems highly unlikely to have happened in transit as it was in bubble wrap, the Apple box and in a padded envelope!

I shipped an iPhone 7 with fully working camera (I still used it to take photos before shipping, and they are good) in official Apple iPhone packaging. I got an email to say that it arrived with a damaged camera and my offer was reduced to almost nothing. I emailed on Wednesday to complain about the situation - it's now Monday and no reply. I tried calling, nobody answered. I tried online chat and was disconnected. Avoid this absolute disaster, because nobody is helping me.

I sent them a PS4 with TWO controllers one with the PS4 and a spare one. They are claiming they only received one controller. They offered me £190 online then sent me an email saying that only one controller turned up and there reviewed offer was £114. However the PS4 only comes with one controller which they have but refused to honour the original price and sent the PS4 back without a controller. I am seeking further advice on this matter.

1. The web site is very poor. It is not possible to bring up a saved list without adding to it. 2. The value of an item in your saved 'to be sold' list can change up to the point that you finalise and submit the list. 3. One of my for sale dvds was rejected once MM checked it. No reason given and they refuse to return it. I watched it just before sending it to them. 4. MM do not pay enough.

Please stay away from musicMagpie. I sent them a box of 122 items, some worth 1p, some £10. Mostly old CDs. £77 was offered, the courier came, all good. They only paid me £50. 13 items were rejected. They allege they were damaged (I admit some old CDs I haven't played for yonks might have been), some CDs were missing from the case (I checked everything and they were all intact) and some items were not originals (never bought a forgery in my life). However the 3 most high value items (3 PS4 games at £20) were 'not sent' according to their warehouse checkers. Hmmmm, they were in the same box as all the other items you've received so that's strange isn't it... I've been contacting them all week, only to get generic replies. They will not entertain the idea that these items were lost or stolen at their end. They say it's my fault, I should have checked their T&Cs to avoid this. Not sure how that would have avoided getting scammed, but anyway... to top it off I tweeted Steve Oliver the MD this morning (@TheBlueMagpie) and he has blocked me. Terrible terrible experience. I've used them before a number of times with no problems. I've recommended them to everyone. But when something goes wrong they lose all interest in helping you. So I'm £27 down, they won't send the 'fakes' or the 'damaged' items back, instead they'll 'recycle' them and I cannot do a damn thing about it, but accept that I've been shafted. Nor will they offer anything as a good will gesture to resolve my dissatisfaction. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

DO NOT SELL YOUR PHONE TO THIS COMPANY. If you do then make sure you take pictures of your phone before you ship it, package your phone securely (obviously) and take photos of the packaging also. Music Magpie will make you a significantly higher offer than most websites for your mobile phone, you will send it to them and they will tell you the phone is damaged or in poor condition and offer you a significantly lower amount. If you don’t accept the offer they will damage your phone and send it back to you. This has happened to me and a number of other people if you do a simple search on google you will see the problems people are having with them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

I am VERY annoyed at this service I feel I have been scammed. My item was in great condition and worked perfectly, I took pictures of my item before sending it off and after the reset even tested it it worked properly (which it did) and was quoted £300, when they received my order they tried telling me it has faulty software and water damage? This is ridiculous as now I’m being quoted £60. How dare you scam people like this during a time like this.

If 0 stars was an option !! Goods (2 x ipads)stolen either in transit or upon receipt???. Never had any problems before with many transactions with MM but no help at all on this occasion and now over £100 short in my pocket. Lesson learnt, will never use this company again. This is not just sour grapes but a genuine warning to others, please beware.

Bought an s8 in mid feb. It looked ok, however it started having problems almost immediately. It charged quickly and drained quickly. It froze, jittered and rang people sporadically. Because I was going to travel and needed a phone, I delayed returning it. When I came home, I dropped it. This did not make its performance worse. However, because the screen was marked they said the warranty was void. They did not seem to have examined the phone nor tell me what was wrong with it. This is the first time I have had a problem with a refurbished phone. Needless to say I SHALL NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY again.

Trade 1951954 Claimed 9 of my items were missing when I put them all in the box one by one and ticked them off against the list. Customer services sent me emails that were nonsensical when I challenged and simply paid me less the 9 items. So incompetent - or at least I hope that's what it amounts to - that I will never use again.

My phone was valued at £105 because it met all the criteria, everything worked as it should and it had no chips or cracks on the screen. However, after sending it in I was informed that the "item is not as specified" because apparently the NFC was not working. First of all, I had used my phone the week before to make a contactless payment and the NFC worked just fine. And second of all, a malfunctioning NFC chip does not bring the value of a phone down by 75%! The revised offer I received after the evaluation was only £27 which is ridiculous. I'm guessing they expect you to not want to go through the hassle of getting your items sent back to you, so they find/ create minor faults and hope that you accept the small fraction of the original price that they offered you. On top of all this, when I got my phone back from them after declining their revised offer the original box and screen protector that I sent the phone in were both missing. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. Avoid at all costs!
