“Went for basic service and MOT at the Apsley centre.
Despite us being an hour late, they were friendly and helpful and had called me back within an hour to say the service and MOT had been completed. There was some work needed to pass the MOT and an advisory which was discussed with me prior to the work being carried out (I opted to get the advisory fixed there and then too).
Pricing was very reasonable and work done was to a good standard. Also got a quote for further work I know is due (cam belt) which is competitively priced. Will definitely be going back to them.”

“There was a queue of folk waiting by 8 30. It looks like people want to drop off vehicles in a timely fashion so they can get to work. You may want to think about a fractionally early start in the morning.

“Organising the appointment was quite easy and the reception was efficient. The work was carried out to time but recharging the air con system did not get it working. I was told the diagnostics could take 90 minutes but I didn't have time to wait.
In fact, I took the car to my local garage who spotted immediately that the bolt holding the compressor pulley to its shaft was loose - 30 minutes and it was fixed.
So, the people at Mr Clutch were good at what they did but not too sharp on what they missed!”
“Very efficient service and seems like they have done good job. One grouse: charging for 50p for coffee seems a bit un-neccessary. Most places like this provide complimentary coffee. Added to which, as I had no cash, I had to go without”
“The service was correct but the booking system does not handle concurrency properly. It allowed me to book a slot then next morning a call that the slot had already booked by another customer. So the booking system should handle race conditions properly.”
“Very happy with the guys however I will be going back. As after replacing part of the steering rack the tracking is now completely out making the steering very very heavy and pulling the steering wheel dangourously out of my hand. Very unhappy as it was after an MOT which I thought was to Check and correct dangourous vehicles.”

“The work done was fine and the centre always manages to get the work done either on the day or shortly afterwards. I had to go on two days due to an MOT retest, but on both days the centre was late opening. 15 minutes on the Thursday which meant I was sat around waiting for my 8.30 retest.”
“I have been using Mr Clutch in Derby since 2009 for both of my cars, and up to now I have found the customer service to be excellent. However on this occasion I have to say that things have changed for the worse.
When I first took my Prius for MOT in 2009, my personnel plates were studied very hard by the manager at the time Alan, who confirmed that although they were not standard plates, because the letters were not all black but were checkered, because they were flat and predominantly black they were legal.
This time when visiting for a renewal on the 29th December, the manager there who I did not take his name, advised the tester that they were not legal and failed the MOT on just that.
This meant I had to go and purchase new plates and attach them, in order to return for a retest.
I had to pay £35 pounds for new plates involving a return journey to Ashbourne to purchase the plates and fit them, before returning to Derby for a retest.
In light of this, I will not be using Mr Clutch in the future.

“Not happy at all, got a full Gold Plus service from hayes Mr.Clutch for my car but not satisfy at all. its look like car did not have any service. i said to them use recommended oil but i think they use any cheap oil, after some days it become so black like never changed. and car millage decrease after service as well, disappointed.
**UPDATE**
Now spoken to Mr Clutch head office and they have kindly refunded me for the Oil and I am now happy to return in the future.
