Terrible. I took my car here for an mot and full service. After the mot was done, I recieved a rather panicked call and an engineer told me my car had failed the mot and needed about £500 worth of work done. They told me the back and front brake disks needed replacement and were completely worn down. Unsure and unable to afford this, I phoned my stepdad (who used to work as a mechanic) to get his opinion, he told me to pick the car up and then he'd take a look at it before I forked over £500. When I picked the car up I was handed an mot pass certificate and the only recommendations were relating to a chip in my windscreen! So they lied over the phone about it failing the mot. Then my stepdad took a look and the brake disks were totally fine, he reckoned about 3000 miles left and also pointed out that my car has a warning function for when the brake disks have worn down and need replacing! I'm so annoyed at mr clutch, they clearly just saw a young female so decided to bullshit about work that needed doing to scare me into forking out £500! I'm sure there must be some fair trading standards law against lying to a customer like that! 100% do not recommend.

With 2hrs to go to my MOT.. I get this call... My car should be having its first MOT since I bought it right now....But the garage cancelled 2hrs prior due to the Assessor having a day off?.....I booked this over a week ago & now my insurance will be invalidated on MOT's last day!! Plus it's thrown my plans out by doing next day!! I also find I have a good customer voucher for £20-yet as I booked online I paid £24! Thanks for the consideration Mr Clutch!!

I have a problem with my ignition which was not a problem before I left my car at your garage. It doesn't start straight away, there is now a shortage somewhere! I left my car in your garage on Wednesday evening as it failed the MOT because of a worn out engine mount and a rod. I was told the car would be ready the next day. It wasn't because the garage couldn't get the part! Friday the part was there but there was a damaged seal and oil leak, so I okayed that but the part again was not there. On the Saturday I was told that there was something wrong with the start up sensor, I questioned this as I had not had any problem at all starting the car, it must be something that happened in your garage. My friend is in disbelief he said it's the only garage that he's hear of where the car comes back with problems that it didn't have before it went in! He had driven my car the day previous to it going into your garage. As I drive my car, with a dodgy ignition/start up an orange light on my dash board which I've never seen before! It feels like the gear stick is rubbing against something as I drive and the car keeps shuddering. I know the car is now old and expect things to wear out but I don't expect to feel that my car is now in a very bad state because of repairs made by your garage. If I take it back it will again take days for me to get it back. You don't offer courtesy cars and you will probably charge me a fortune for damage to my car that is a consequence of your garage. I chose your garage thinking that I could trust Mr Clutch to provide a good service now I'm sorry I ever went to your garage. It seems I would have been better off taking it to some back street garage.

How can you put a price of a bronze service on the website and then ask for another £25 at the desk because my car uses a fully synthetic oil??!! Dishonest. The retail price of semi or full synthetic oils is exactly the same, plus when on the website you ask me to select my vehicle you then price me for service according to my car. Last time I've use Mr clutch

I booked an MOT on the Internet with the Crawley branch. When I turned up in the morning they didn't have my booking and asked me to forward the confirming email. I was delayed in sending the email and have not heard anything since. I was unable to phone them due to work and I'm now sitting at work at 6.30 with no way of getting home and no news on my car. Not impressed at all.

BEWARE MR CLUTCH GLASGOW! No Garage can make any money from a £19.00 Mot, but they can make money from spurious faults that require only labour charges to rectify!!! My test was booked for 10am and was told it would take 45 mins. I got a call from them about 1pm telling me that a front and rear brake binding and that it needs a handbrake cable. I know for a fact that both rear wheels were rotating freely the day before the test as the car was on axel stands to check the handbrake. So next day I go to collect the car and pay £230, as I drive away I hear a terrible rumbling with heavy vibrations from the rear brake they had miraculously cured of its binding problem. I returned the car to them and they tried to say it needed wheel balancing! They were very grumpy about me returning with the car. It was a brand new tyre (2 days old) and was balanced when fitted. So I left the car with them for 1 hour and as I returned the grumpy mechanic was driving in with my car. He sullenly informed me that the problem was rectified and accused me of having always had the crazily loud vibrations from the brakes he had just finished working on. He refused point blank to tell me the cause! I will never use MR CLUTCH GLASGOW again.

I booked an appointment online for an MOT the night before at around 6pm. The appointment slot I chose was 9.15am and as it said to arrive at least 10 minutes early I actually got there just before 9am. I chose this early slot as I am self employed and had jobs to do later that morning. When I arrived the man on reception said they didn't have my name down, he then asked if I booked online the night before which I told him I did. He then said 'ah we left the office at 6pm so wouldn't have seen the appointment you booked'. Therefore the MOT inspector wasn't coming in until 10.30am! I waited for 2 1/2 hours until 11.30 when my car had finally been inspected, which then made me extremely late for all of my jobs that day. I would have gone to another garage if I had not already paid online and all the receptionist kept saying was 'I'm trying to get hold of him' so I had no idea I'd be waiting that long. What's the point in having an online booking system if you might have to wait 2 1/2 hours after the chosen time slot?! There was an even earlier time slot which I almost chose which was 8.15 so I could have been waiting even longer. While I was there another lady arrived to pick up her car to then be told it wouldn't be ready for hours so she had to get a taxi back home. This was the first time I used Mr Clutch and was not a great first impression, I will not be using Mr Clutch again and will be advising my friends not to.

Staff not helpfull and busy with other things. Not to mention that the quote for the repairs was exagerated. I checked later with another company and was a huge difference in between. I will never use this company again!

I use this Mr Clutch very first time in my life and I would like to upload my experience from the beginning of booking for my car Golden plus extra and MOT . I booked online and I paid £185 and following day I received phone call from Chris saying that if I want to use Nissan brand parts I have to pay extra £70.24 something and I said yes that's fine I will pay day I drop my car he said ok. Day I booked I went to drop my car and went to reception and the environments was that well coming , moment I went In, Chris told me that due to I haven't been paid that original parts he didn't order the parts and it might not be arrive today if he order now. I said to him but I told you that I will come and pay? and other gentlemen came to me and make big argument with me that was my fault not paying. So I had no choice at the end I had to use their standard parts. I will never ever use this garage in my life. They were not helpful at all and they left my car carpet muds everywhere. I don't believe that they have done properly either. They call me after 3 hours informed me they have done and I went to pick up my car and the both guy working there wasn't helpful at all they were looking differently. This is my experience in Mr Clutch.

My first point of contact was with a very rude employee of Mr Clutch at Crewley. Fair enough I was 2 minutes late for an appointment but I didn't deserve to receive such a rude welcome. I never had any work done because of this and went elsewhere. I will most certainly not spend any money at that branch.

Was refused to be seen for being 4 minutes late due to traffic. Will definitely let this be known across my large following on Twitter and Instagram. Will never go back and cannot find a head office number to get my refund. As I was told by the person on the phone to do. Poor customer service.

On 16.12.15 Mr Clutch Croydon carried out work as a result of an MOT. The work carried out was a replacement of my cars right hand suspension arm. On 25.12.15 this part fell apart during transit. At that moment 3 parents and one 5 year old child were in the car. Once the car was inspected by the RAC it became apparent that the part that failed was the right hand suspension arm. The RAC made it clear that if we had been travelling at speed the accident could have been fatal. Upon contacting customer services I was greeted by a Mr F.Goodman, after a lengthy conversation Mr Goodman suggested that if were to pursue compensation for the cost of the work he would need to ask the area manager for permission, prior to this Mr Goodman claimed to be a board member of your company. Upon asking to have his line managers details Mr Goodman stated “I don't think you realise how senior I am in the company” and upon being questioned claimed that he didn’t report to anyone, including the Chairman. Once I had checked your articles on companies house it was apparent that he was not listed as a board member. After he ascertained he had consulted the area manager it became clear that he was not going to offer compensation above an amount of £20. He then stated that an investigation would be carried out and that would determine if the part or the work was at fault. Upon later contact with your office it became apparent that no such investigation had, or would be carried out. I have several questions as a result of this interaction with your company. Is Mr Goodman a member of your companies board? If he is not, why did he lie? Why was it claimed an investigation would be carried out if there was never any intention of doing so? Is it normal practice to offer a very low amount of compensation for a gross failure to ensure the safety of a customers vehicle? As I am sure you realise there are several issues that need addressing here, not least the failure to be honest with your customers, the failure to carry out the work in a safe fashion, and your organisations involvement in destroying a family Christmas day. As I understand the law, based upon advice from independent mechanics and the Citizens Advice Bureau, it is irrelevant if the part or the work was at fault, culpability is still yours. I look forward to reading your response as soon as it is possible.

I booked a free winter check and was asked to arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled slot. It was 40 minutes before anyone looked at my car, I wasn't kept informed. The waiting room was absolutely freezing, despite having two heaters that I'm sure could have been turned on. one hour and ten minutes after arriving I was told that everything was OK, apart from a main beam bulb and the battery was a bit low. I asked them to change the bulb before I took the car, thinking it would (and should) be a two minute job. Twenty minutes later I asked if someone was fitting the bulb and was told that the bulb had been ordered as they didn't have one in stock. Had they of let me know that I would have left it and taken the car. Another 15 minutes went by and the bulb arrived. During this time, my car's headlights were left on with the engine not running, great news for someone that's got a low battery. They also could have taken this opportunity to put the battery on charge, but didn't. Two hours and ten minutes after I got there I had the car and was driving away. That night I went home and charged the battery, I discovered that the plastic guard on the positive battery terminal had been ripped off and not replaced, it's not possible to get this as a spare part, so now both battery terminals are exposed. All in all a very bad and frustrating experience, which I would not wish on anyone. I'll now be contacting Mr Clutch directly to complain, and will not be returning. Zero customer service and the bare minimum of service levels generally. There was so many opportunities to 'add value' and improve my experience, but all of them were missed.
