“Firstly the online booking system, it was very good, customer friendly and simple to navigate which is good to see companies putting the customer first, the only thing I did notice was the email confirmation for the payment dropped into Spam (I used Hotmail which is fairly generic) you could consider putting something on the site at the payment stage that advises to check all folders.
I dropped the car off on the Tuesday between Christmas and the New Year, the young lady was helpful and polite, it didn't seem overly busy but she did make conversation between calls to users etc.
The chap conducting the MOT was thorough with the MOT and though it passed there were a number of advisories some of which were of use going forward so I schedule repairs before trey become an issue.
The only thing that prevented me marking the experience as very good was the lack of customer service from the engineer when taking and dropping the keys and passing the viewing window looking in directly at me, he needs to smile a little more and look like he enjoys working there.
I will continue to use the service annually and have and will recommend Mr Clutch to friends and colleagues going forward.

“I have been using Mr Clutch in Derby since 2009 for both of my cars, and up to now I have found the customer service to be excellent. However on this occasion I have to say that things have changed for the worse.
When I first took my Prius for MOT in 2009, my personnel plates were studied very hard by the manager at the time Alan, who confirmed that although they were not standard plates, because the letters were not all black but were checkered, because they were flat and predominantly black they were legal.
This time when visiting for a renewal on the 29th December, the manager there who I did not take his name, advised the tester that they were not legal and failed the MOT on just that.
This meant I had to go and purchase new plates and attach them, in order to return for a retest.
I had to pay £35 pounds for new plates involving a return journey to Ashbourne to purchase the plates and fit them, before returning to Derby for a retest.
In light of this, I will not be using Mr Clutch in the future.
