We were told to expect a call 1 hour before delivery which did not happen. My wife was surprised that the delivery man wanted to leaving the washing on the kerb leaving for her and our neighbour's daughter to get it undercover in our house. Reluctantly the delivery man got it as far as our door and then left it for my wife and neighbour to get it into the house.

I'm really sorry you had a poor experience with the delivery service. We have had a few comments recently regarding this, and although it's a 3rd party delivering this, it does reflect badly on us. We have added clearer information on the delivery tab on our products delivered using the palletised service so hopefully customers aren’t surprised by this. It’s not something we try and hide and is in our delivery page which appears at the top of all our pages, but we’ve taken on board comments that it could be clearer and made changes. Pallet deliveries should be wheeled as close to your door as possible, but taking it into your property is unfortunately not included due to insurance restrictions. The pallet service works really well with multiple appliances and if you have workmen on site working on your kitchen. 2 man delivery is possible on certain product lines, but our costs start at £60 per delivery and we lose the ability to deliver on weekday of choice to fit with your schedule. They will have set routes and deliver on certain days only, so it’s a trade-off we haven’t solved yet, but we are constantly looking to improve and are on the lookout for delivery partners who can offer the same flexibility we have now. Product £50 cheaper then elsewhere and delivery was fast. BUT it was delivered on a pallet and the driver said he could not take it further in doors. I had to lift it inside and the driver didn't even collect the pallet which I now have to dispose of. Not good if it's a heavy washing machine OR ordered by elderly or invalid people - Modern Living need to ensure that they make this MUCH more clearer on their website although it does say this in the delivery options. That's why I couldn't give you guys a 5 rating sorry.

Craig has been the most helpful, polite, patient. A credit to the team! Shame third party delivery driver was having a strop not being to find us at a new build address and threatened to leave my order of a brand new oven/ hob on the pavement!!! Must be the weather ! Suggest a review on using same delivery company in future ? Just a thought.

I was recommended buy another electrial retailer when i Called modern living they had the cooker hob i wanted been looking for everywhere ther customer service was excellent really made my day delivery is great too got email to confirm and they call u hour before would defo recomend them and will Shop here for any future items x From a very happy customer

I was a bit warey about buying my ceiling extractor on line as it was such a large amount of money. The whole process was made easy by Modern Living , the item was to be despatched straight from manufacturer. I did have to phone up a few days after purchasing to find out when it was being despatched and was told it was to be the next day with a 2 hour window. Delivery was made in the 2 hour slot that was given. The item was as described and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I will certainly be back in touch with them when I need the rest of my kitchen appliances.

The toilet roll holder is very well made and looks more expensive that it was. Although we haven't put it up yet as waiting from completion of bathroom. Delivery was very quick, received item within a few days of ordering and was kept informed by email of every it's move. Would definitely order from Modern Living again and would strongly recommend them.

I'd rate this zero stars if I could. My item was out of stock, despite no warning on the site stating this before I had committed to buying. Then customer services tried to get me to switch to a different model which may not have fitted my appliance. When the goods finally were sent 3 weeks later, the logistics firm wouldn't leave the delivery in a safe place as instructed, and wouldn't redeliver on a weekend or bank holiday. So I had to go to their depot, which was in a different county to my house, having to make a train journey especially and then walk for 45mins. E-commerce should not work this way. Modern Living, you are terrible.

I'm really very sorry about the trouble you had, but I think the review is really unfair. When we found the filter was out of stock, we tried to find a solution. You could cancel the order, wait or take the alternative. You chose to wait and we sent it using a next day courier as soon as it came in. I'm sorry you found the couriers unhelpful, but at any point had you contacted us about the problems we would have stepped in and had it delivered elsewhere or to your safeplace. We are the customers of the courier service, so they only make changes if requested to by us. A lot of the positive reviews state the customer service is very good, precisely because we make sure problems are rectified. A phone call or email would have been enough for us to help, but we can't fix problems if we don't know about them. Craig, modern living.
