Perfect phone sent, even verified by carphone warehouse as perfect condition. Quoted 140 then offered 40 due to apparent screen burn. Asked for proof this funny enough was stalled at coming through. I asked for a photo with my imei showing on the screen and funny enough I only got a pic of a random phone with no imei proving it was mine. When questioned all they said was well we’ve sent a second photo and no idea why that email hadn’t arrived. Total liars, do not use them. Shocking staff with no morals.

Good afternoon, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the decision made regarding your device. Screen burn appears within the LCD layer of the device (this is the pixel layer underneath the glass on the front). This can come in two different forms and imprint or a glow. The most common imprint we tend to see if of the keyboard as this is the most common function used on a mobile phone. It can also come in the form of a red glow which appears around the edges of the screen. Screen burn is where the pixels create a ghost like imprint that remains even after the on-screen content has changed or moved. This is mainly visible against a white background. This can present itself in 3 different levels. A photo was provided to yourself of your device. When you locate an IMEI number on a Samsung, the background of the IMEI is black, which would not show the screenburn clearly as it is visible on white that colour. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact a member of our customer service team on 0345 872 3000 or alternatively you can email customerservices@mazumamobile.com

Phone sent away in perfect condition. Kept in case with screen protector as long as I’ve had it. Got an email saying there was an issue with the screen and reduced the price to £5. Absolute jokers. Avoid at all costs.

BEWARE do not use... Sent my iPhone 7plus quoted price £160, picked up by DPD next day received an email saying cracked screen price reduced to £55 (my phone was not cracked and was in a very good condition) then had someone phone me saying they can offer £80 for it.. I asked for pictures of this cracked screen and got sent a corner of a cracked screen, asked for the phone to be returned and it is definitely not the condition it was sent in.. I am literally gobsmacked and how this company can get away with this.. I’m reporting to trading standards.. shame on you Mazuma Mobile

Good morning, Thank you for your review. We are sorry you did not have a positive experience with us. Once the devices enter the warehouse they are checked by our technicians and this is where the crack would have flagged up. A crack could be anything from a 1mm crack to the entire screen shattered, however it would result in the touchscreen needing to be replaced which is why you received a revised offer. A second technician checks every phone again, whether you have accepted or rejected, in order to see if we can offer anymore money for your device. In your case we were able to, which is why you received a second offer. Within our warehouse the floors and workbenches are covered in rubber matting and no tools are used on devices. As well as this once the devices are removed from the packaging it is delivered in, it is wrapped in bubble wrap to be safely moved around the warehouse. The way the phone is protected within our warehouse, it is highly unlikely that the device would have been cracked whilst with us. If you wish to discuss this further please contact a member of our customer services team at customerservices@muzumamobile.com Kind regards Mazuma Mobile

Wish I'd read these reviews before sending my phone off. Less than 2 years old, always kept in a case with screen protector on and hardly used. Immaculate, like new condition yet apparently has screen burn...seems to be an awful lot of phones out there with screen burn and apparently most of them get sent to Mazuma!!! Original offer £140, revised offer £40, needless to say it was rejected! Absolute bunch of chancers...I'd better get my phone back in the same immaculate condition it was sent in (and in the original box). If you're thinking of sending your phone in, take a look at all the reviews and don't bother!

Sent Samsung S9 64gb in. Been in a quadlock case and tempered glass screen protector since day 1 of owning. Dealt with IT and Phones for military and other industries. Mazuma claim "screen burn"...i claim BS...biggest cop out of an excuse to pay out if ive ever heard of it. Mazuma, have you heard of offering services by deception? This is you, you offer a service and deceive the public...cant wait to see a class action against yourselves in future for it. Absolute waste of time dealing with you guys, should of used another firm to begin with.

Sent a Sony Xperia 5 to muzuma offer of £140, they received it today. Offer went down to £25 due to screen burn. This is totally false, there is no screen burn on the device. I am a telecoms technician for the NHS, dealing with approx 5000 mobile phone users. I rejected the £25 offer and its not saying 'retention' which should mean I will receive my device back. I will give muzuma the 7 working days (as quoted by one of their staff on a phone call today)., if the device does not arrive by then I will be taking this to trading standards. I will never use muzuma again and advise other people what has happened to me.

Good morning, thank you for your review, We are sorry to hear you were unhappy with our technicians findings. They found the camera lens to be crack on the rear camera. Based on this we would be unable to offer the full amount due to a lens replacement. Our retentions team go in touch with you because when a device is initially graded by a technician, the price is based on a system driven price. We want to offer our customers the best price possible which is why most devices are reassessed. This is why a new offer was made and we wanted to offer you the best possible price. This has now been returned back to you, Kind regards Mazuma Mobile.

Recently put a request to trade in my Samsung S7 Edge and this was fully working and in mint condition. Followed all the instructions online and was quoted £85. Put phone into local DPD collection and when Mazuma received phone they advised problem with order. Nothing else and offered me £5!!!. A follow up call by their team advised they could offer £15!! I requested a return of the phone which arrived back today by 2nd class post. On opening the returned package they had used very little protection and the phone was still on with just 3% battery left. Mazuma mobile are completely lying when the value your phone and would never recommend anyone to use them. They dont deserve a star at all but that is the lowest available.

What a rip off, I would never recommend to anyone, got offered 150 pounds for my iPhone 7 Plus all that was wrong with it were a tiny scratch on the bottom of the screen which I stated in the notes, the phone had been in a case since new and been well looked after, sent the phone to get a e mail saying they have turned the phone on and there is white dots on the screen they can give me 50 pounds! Not happy as I didn’t see any of this also I might add I sent it in the box it came in from new, I rejected the offer as I’m not being ripped off, knocking a hundred pounds off so they can maximise on their profit by ripping people off I don’t think so, they then sent me a revised offer of 80 pounds which I also declined as this was not the price agreed when I sent the phone, so eventually I got the phone back with no box and they’ve also damaged the SIM card slot, this is disgusting if a company makes its money lying misleading people then ripping them off at the last minute I will never be using them again and I will be telling as many people as I can not to fall into the same trap. Not happy even giving mazuma mobile 1 star would be to many

Good morning Chris, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service you received from Mazuma. Unfortunately, our technicians confirmed a defective screen due to white mark(s) in the display which is usually only visible on a white background. These tend to appear as little white stars within the LCD, it is where the pixel has died and causes it to glow brighter than the rest of them. Due to the cost of a screen replacement we were unable to offer you the original valuation price. In order for us to allow the team more space to work, all packaging is separated from devices upon receipt. If for any reason a customer’s device is to be returned, our team will try their best to return original packaging/accessories where possible. If they are unable to do so, we do ensure that all devices are packaged and fully protected for transit before they leave. In relation to the damage to the simcard slot, please contact our team and someone will be able to investigate this for you, If you would like to discuss this further, please contact a member of our customer service team on 0345 872 3000 or alternatively you can email customerservices@mazumamobile.com Kind regards Mazuma Mobile.

I sent an iPhone X in pristine condition. I was originally offered £275, after it was checked by a qualified technician, the offer was reduced to £110, due to a cracked and chipped back camera, this is simply not true. This device was in immaculate condition. Obviously, I phoned and was extremely frustrated. I have since sent photos to prove these claims of damage are untrue, but low and behold customer service have agreed with the technician and sent me a photo of said damage to an iPhone but it did not resemble mine at all, no way was my phone so badly damaged. I am simply not accepting the claim by Mazuma mobile, and intend reporting the situation to trading standards. This is an unfortunate situation as I have used Mazuma mobile in the past and had no problems with them, that was a cheaper iPhone model though, this iPhone cost over £1000 new. Not at all happy with this service. I do not recommend Mazuma mobile.

Misleading and dishonest. The devil here lays in the descriptions of a phone's condition on their website. In particular, I sent a phone which had minor scratches on the screen, and declared it as such. Based on a very hard to see scratch, they deemed that the screen needed replacing, and therefore more than halved their valuation. Nobody looking at the phone would assume that the screen is faulty, except Mazuma. Look at the image attached - does it look like the screen needs replacing to you? It seems dishonest, because I'd imagine that a lot of people will receive lower valuations and simply think it's less effort to accept it.

Terrible. The same as everyone else is saying; they said there was something wrong with the screens on both of the phones I sent in. Got them sent back to me and there was nothing of the sort. I'm surprised they are still in business. Went with O2 recycle instead and no problems.

Don't be fooled. I got a quote (£75) for a used iPhone with nothing more than light scuff marks on the back. Everything else worked perfectly. Then after posting it, I am told the screen had 'white dots on it' which it clearly did not. They could only offer me £30. I rejected. I then got a text increasing to £40, again I rejected. It then took them 2 weeks to return it to me. Once they have your phone, they work on the premise that it's too much hassle to have it sent back. It sounds so easy but don't be fooled.

At the risk of sounding like a typical disgruntled customer, I'm just so annoyed at these absolute charlatans. I sent in my iPhone 7 in perfect condition, and BOXED, in an also perfect condition original box, that had sat in a drawer since I first got the phone. Like everyone else, I received a hugely knocked down offer (like, 25% of the original online offer) which I rejected and asked for my phone back. I then, later that evening, got a text from them with a revised offer, that I also rejected because it was rubbish and only £10 more than their first. They're obviously just chancing it. From the day I got the phone, it was kept in a case with a screen protector on it. It looks brand new. They had a different opinion. They eventually sent it back to me, without the box that I had sent it to them in. So now my ability to sell the phone privately has been hugely compromised. I have nothing but contempt for you Mazuma, and you certainly don't care about people or their property. I hope you go out of business very, very soon.

They initially offered me £85 for a Galaxy S7 edge. They are now offering me £5 with some gibberish regarding level 2 LCD. I have read that it is an excuse they use with everyone! Now they told me they need 7 working days to return my device! I am asking them to send it ASAP! They are crooks!
