“I placed an order and requested next day delivery. It took 3 days in all to reach mel. I emailed Maxwells and they were very apologetic and the order arrived next day. I cannot fault Maxwells they have been badly let down by their courier”

“I first ordered from Maxwells via eBay, and as promised I received my order the very next day ! The second time I ordered the same item via the website on a Sunday, and was expecting it to arrive on the Tuesday, which it didn't. I sent an email on the Wednesday to say it hadn't arrived unfortunately I got no response, so I then rang them on the Thursday afternoon, when a very helpful lady said she would get onto the warehouse and the carrier to sort it out. On the Friday the item arrived safe and sound ! I should have contacted them on the Tuesday about 4pm, so the delay was partly my fault, but emailing them from their site seems to produce no response, shame... as it is THE way 99.9% of customers contact suppliers these days. I WILL DEFINITELY buy from then again though, because one they were notified of the problem they responded quickly. Also I would TELEPHONE rather than email them if there is a problem (I think I was just unlucky !) rather than rely on email. I did send them man email on the day I ordered the item and also one after to thank them for their quick action in resolving my problem ... but guess what ? No reply to either email... Proves my point ! PLEASE Maxwells get your email system sorted !”

“Everyone at the Birtley store is so helpful and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to get you what you need. If they haven't got it in their Branch they have it transferred from another. I recently bought a battery charger on line which turned out to be cheaper than eBay or Amazon and it arrived £2.39 postage within 3 days.”

“Ordered 2 large tubs of paint. Packaged very well. One of the tubs had damage to the lid but due to the packaging method paint loss was minimal. Would recommend / use again.”

“Ordering items on line - good and straight forward. Getting items delivered: courier did not contact me for delivery. Maxwells did not inform me that it was going to be a split delivery over 2 days by 2 couriers. Good job I wasn't on a job task for this! Overall, good quality of goods and what I needed, just disappointed with lack of delivery info. Should I have to use them for a customer job, I will want an intinerary of delivery dates and courier names before.”
