“Took the order, then gave me a dispatched order email - then sent me an order cancelled email!!! VERY POOR SERVICE”

“Delivery details were texted to me and the paint turned up as per the text. Unfortunately one of the two cans had opened in transit. The customer service dept was extremely helpful and sent out a replacement by return. overall excellent service and I will definitely use Maxwells again.”

“Disappointed with the delivery service. Item was despatched on 22nd Jan for next day delivery, but it didn't arrive. I rang the Maxwells online Customer Service at 1650 but all I received was the answer machine. I left a message and my telephone number and also sent an e-mail to ask where my item was. It didn't arrive the following day (Saturday) either. No one rang me back so I rang Maxwells this morning (Monday) but the line was constantly engaged. I eventually got through to the Birtley depot who managed to get a message to Customer Service. They then rang me and said that the courier driver couldn't find our address and it would be better if I rang them directly. They had also just sent me an email saying the same In desperation I tried this but was left holding the line for ages so I gave up and contacted Maxwells again to suggest that this was their problem and they should sort it out with the courier in order to get the item delivered to me. The item eventually arrived this afternoon. We purchase online regularly and never have any problems with drivers finding where we are. Our home is in the country, but on the edge of the village and if the driver had simply asked any of the neighbours then he could have found us quite easily. This is the first time I have used Maxwells and I have to say that I wasn't impressed. Hence the rating of 'Poor'. When I pay for next day delivery I don't expect my order to arrive any later than that. Maybe Maxwells should reconsider it's courier contract.”

“I ordered some wood stain with next day delivery. The stain arrived well packaged and was the correct product. The markings on the package clearly showed that it had been dispatched on the day I ordered it and the instruction for next day delivery equally clear so Maxwells DIY had obviously done their bit. Unfortunately the delivery company let them down and it didn't arrive on time but I did get a very prompt reply and apology when I informed them of the problem. So I would definitely use this company again but I wouldn't rely on the next day delivery.”

“Competively priced but not of a good quality with very thin metal. Why can't manufacturers produce quality goods these days. I suspect the metal will decay very quickly.”

“Although "next working day delivery" was not achieved, this was somewhat fortunate in my instance, as I realised over the weekend that I had seriously over calculated the amount I required! I emailed Maxwells DIY asking if there was any chance of reducing the order and getting a refund. On the Monday I received a friendly email saying that would be no problem at all. Have today received the amended delivery. Also, cheapest supplier by far that I could find of the product required. Thanks”
