“I probably should have sourced the appropriate quantity of paint before getting the decorators in, however I wasn't ready for a surprise from HOMEBASE that the paint I had ordered could take 28 days to supply. I was short by 5 litres of Crown matt 'Spotlight' emulsion. A quick online order to MAXWELLS had it delivered to my door within 20 hours of ordering and saved a fair bit on high street price even with postage - an absolute life saver!!”

“I have used maxwells for years now never ever had any kind of problem, instore on phone or on line. staff are always friendly and helpful. delivers very rarely late if ever. overall birtley staff are excellent. would highly recommend maxwells for quality and service. thanks very much.”

“I knew the make and colour of paint that I wanted and went online to find out where I could get it from. Maxwell's was much cheaper than anywhere else and the delivery was quick and friendly. I would definitely order from them again and recommend them to others.”

“Just over 7 days ago I placed an order with Maxwells DIY because the item was in stock and they offered next day delivery. The day after placing the order I recieved a conformation email telling me it had been dispatched. Likely story as 7 days on and 3 phone calls later I am still awaiting the next day delivery. At present I would not recommend Maxwells DIY either for the service it provides or its customer service. Having phoned 3 times I was informed each time that they would get back to me via email to tell me what was happening with me order. I have not recieved one email informing of any progress or what the issue is. Clearly not very satisfactory with a very disappointed customer.”

“I purchased a dust buster from Maxwell's DIY, as a late present for my Mum for Mothers day, I chose a standard delivery service. It's been 1 week and one day since the order was despatched to my mum and she is yet to recieve it. When I rang their office, three days ago the lady that picked my call was not very knowledgeable, the call was transferred to a senior member of staff who told me another item would be sent, and nothing has been sent. I have rang their office today again having not received the item still and no card left by any courier company, and I have been told there is an investigation going on, I have not received any correspondence from Maxwell DIY acknowledging my complaint nor telling what they intend to do about it, I have been the one chasing them to know what they intend to do.”

“Ordered on line to collect at my local store, was contacted by phone and asked to call after noon to collect. When I arrived at 2pm the order had not arrived and shop assistant was very unhelpful, suggesting the shop had nothing to do with the web ordering service and the orders were always late arriving. Suggested I should have just gone to the shop to buy in the first place. The shop manager was apologetic but unable to fulfill my order from stock held in shop. As a result I had to make a second trip to pick up the order once it had been delivered to the shop. You need to link up your on line and shop operations and tighten up you delivery schedules.”
