“I have just purchased a head torch with padded headstrap from Mapdec. I have to say it was the most painfree experience. Ordering was easy, delivery was super swift and the product when it arrived lived up to its spec. 1000 lumens for £42 is a complete bargain and the headstrap is comfortable and effective. i would not hesitate to use Mapdec again. “A great well designed and very bright light for the price. I use mine for trail running and found all the settings bright and clear. It's a bit of a fiddle to put on with plugging in the battery, but secure and easy to operate once installed. If Mapdec could streamline the head strap with a smaller plate for the torch and better holders for the wire it would be perfect.”

“Build quality is excellent for both unit and battery. Looks and feels robust. The cables are of good quality and length. The connector feels good. The bracket is much better than the silicone bands but it's not as sturdy as perhaps the cateye brackets. Having said that, it's works just fine but I would not be surprised if in time the bar band fails. But that's ok, they are cheap enough to replace. In terms of performance, I run it at 75% in the dark for a 26 mile daily commute and it lasts for at least 2 hours and I guess it would probably go to 3 hrs. The output is bright and clean. The light throws well for road use. I suspect that for off road use one might need a second light to spread the throw but I'm no off roader. It represents excellent value. I did lots of research and also considered the option of one of those £12 Solarstorms but I think this was a better buy. Would I buy from Mapdec again? Yes most definitely. I think they have truly tested the products and use only what they know works well. So they have taken the issue of quality out for the consumer. Would I buy this light again? Most definitely yes. Mapdec also sell the K2, a newer version of the light but I think that very small lip of metal on the upper part of the lens can keep the glare out the yes when stood on the pedals so I was quite happy with the K1. “There really isnt anything else like the Mapdec LESS shelter on the market! The quality of the product, function and price are fantastic and the online shopping experience and the delivery was excellent too. I work coaching outdoor pursuits and delivering NGB qualifications to outdoor instructors. I always promote to my clients to carry an emergency survival shelter for the groups that they will be leading and I am often hit with responses of current shelters being too big and too heavy to be practical. I then bring out my Mapdec LESS shelter which I have managed to fold down to just a bit bigger than a can of beans and they are astonished at the product. I really rate this and after over 15 years of owning and using a range of outdoor shelters from all brands (including Terra Nova, Rab, Lifesystems) I can honestly say that this is the best I have ever owned. Be aware the shelter is made from lightweight materials, so if you are looking for something your group can walk over and drag across the ground then this might not be for you. However if you are looking for something different, high quality and lightweight then this is most certainly it! Chris Brain”

“I have been using the Thumb 1 for around a year now. Use it as a helmet mount for biking. Runs for about 2.5 hours on full power, much longer if power levels varied for climbing or fireroads. Been subjected to heavy rain and several crash testings, never failed, very impressed with it.”
