“Please do not give a cent of your money to Maker & Son. After multiple issues with this 7k piece of furniture, Maker & Son offered to retrieve the couch, and give a full refund.
They did indeed pick up the couch - but Maker & Son HAVE NOT REFUNDED ME.
I emailed with multiple staff, spoke on the phone to staff in 3 countries. Emailed with the CEO, who told me that the company was changing over to a new company. He assured me that if I could be patient, and wait for the new company to fully take over, he would refund me from the new company, as he wanted to do right by Maker & Son customers. He lied.
On Wednesday, the CEO told me that he will not be refunding me for the couch they retrieved from my home, because he doesn’t have a legal responsibility to, as he restructured the company under a new owner.
Maker & Son has been dissolved and restructured by Inc & Co. Please google the Inc & Co CEO.
The Inc & Co CEO will tell you that they have nothing to do with the owners of Maker & Son, but that is not true. It is the same company, ran by the same people. A google search will reveal this.
Maker & Son have always had access to the funds I gave them, and could have easily refunded me. Their CEO directed me to be patient, after promising me a refund if I were patient, then sent me a email saying he no longer had access to the funds - therefore defrauding me of £7k. This is all available on Google, so please do your research!
Finally, they will claim that the ‘prior company’ used different suppliers and they can’t control that quality, when I state that the product isn’t good. But it’s the same exact people, dissolving and reopening new companies, in order to erase debt but still make money!
Maker & Son furniture definitely is not worth even a quarter of what they charge for it, in my experience and others you see here, and you may not even get a product! And if you don’t get a product, you won’t get your money back. You will receive a list of lies about all the reasons they cannot help you, and they’ll offer to sell you more furniture at a reduced rate! Stay away from Maker & Son, owned by Inc & Co.
Maker & Son/Inc and Co claim that they cannot make a situation right, and refund me for the furniture that was retrieved from my home. This is after the current CEO promised to make it right, and sent me a FALSE INVOICE claiming to have refunded. I have all of this is writing, and it’s shocking what I’ve read online that has happened to myself and others. The excuses Maker & Son offer consumers are not factual or honest.”
“Maker&son may be quick to sell you something, but plesse do not expect anything from them when you have a complaint. Our couch's fabric is falling to pieces (it is 2 years old) and Emma from Maker&son has ghosted me. Quick to take thousands of pounds from you, but very slow to correct a mistake. Disgusting.”
“I placed my order and as part of the promotion was told I would also receive an additional cover free of charge. As of today, and despite contacting the company about this item, I've not received it. Had I known it was not going to be sent I would have changed the color of the initial item. Additionally, I was also told I would have the option to pay for my purchase in installment before shipping. Not so much, instead I received an email nearly demanding the entire payment.Finally despite the fact, that some of the reviews I've read indicated customers having issues with the delivery company, all of my issues have been with the company directly and lack of timely response. Definitely did not recommend to a friend who asked and would not to others either based on this experience.”

This company does a fabulous job leaping about in the countryside telling everybody what sensitive souls they are, and how wonderful they all are. This is all smoke and mirrors. Unfortunately they are rubbish at running a business.
I have lost a (huge) deposit (taken without so much as a blush when the company was already in trouble), and I have no sofa or chair. They couldn't organise their finances properly, and are now in liquidation.
Potential buyers beware! And thanks for nothing Maker&Son.”
