The staff I spoke too, Carnie seemed very helpful on the day, but never called on the day agreed, and even worse when I called she was on holiday and left a message to contact Robert Carter, but gave the wrong number. When I finally managed to spoke to Robert Carnie he did not only knew all the details, but was completely unprofessional and his lack of knowledge was alarming.

When I was first contacted by London & Country I thought that I would receive a good service and good advice. However, they took my title down incorrectly (Mrs instead of Miss) and every other company they contacted on my behalf then contacted me with the incorrect title. This delayed things as my Mortgage Lender had to send out another amended copy of my Mortgage Offer (as they had added Mrs in the documents). I was advised to use Blacks Solicitors who L&C work closely with, but they also had my title wrong. Blacks were not helpful at all, and in fact, I had to chase them over and over to ask them to contact the other solicitor. What should have been quite a quick and simple process, ended up a long process with me both solicitors and to tell them to check their mailboxes! I never received emails or phone calls from Blacks without me first contacting them asking for an update. Also, L&C had provided me with a GUARANTEED quote from Blacks Solicitors before I agreed to use them. When I finally received my bill(about 5 months later), it was over £250 more than the original guaranteed quote. I contacted L&C to ask them to find out why it was more and they gave a feeble excuse. I would never recommend L&C to anyone, as they actually hindered the whole process. I could have (and I already had) found my Mortgage Lender, and a Solicitor myself and wouldn't have had L&C getting in the way and giving me false promises. The person I spoke to was very professional and friendly, but unfortunately the company doesn't have the power to do what they say they can with the solicitor. When I phoned him to say that the solicitor never contacts me unless I contact her, and I can never get through to her directly on the phone and have to email her before she will contact me back (as me leaving messages for her to contact me were ignored), he said that he would speak to her. When she next phoned me, it was in an accusing tone, as he had told her that she never contacts me at all. I will never use L&C again.

All good so far. Happy with adviser and regular updates seem to be forthcoming. Nice that it's all by phone and even better that it's free.

We were struggling to get a mortgage when attempting to talk direct to the financial institutions. The whole thing was becoming very frustrating and at times upsetting for my wife and I. We could afford the proposed mortgage easily but unsecured debt made things difficult for us (legacy of previous relationships). I contacted L&C which at the time felt like our last resort, I wish I'd contacted them first to be honest. The guy we dealt with 'Adam Lane' was absolutely brilliant, he made things so easily for us. He was easily accessible and seemingly always available no matter whether it was evenings or weekends. Adam basically took all the stress off of us. Yes we had to gather a lot of information to allow Adam to do his job but that is expected. Adam made some great recommendations and gave some really good advice. Didn't push hard to sell different products but explained why they would be beneficial. I would recommend L&C and Adam to anyone! Thank you for everything and basically making our dream come true!.

It was daunting buying our first house in the UK however, Chris and Phoebe from L&C guided and supported us through the mortgage process with the greatest of ease and professionalism. It took just under 9 weeks from our first engagement with L&C to keys to the house. I cannot rate more highly our experience and would provide six stars if I could. Please do try L&C and ask for Chris or Phoebe.

L&C we're a great help whilst buying my first house. I had a small budget so their free advise was perfect and found me mortgages that had no start up costs and were ideal for me. Onkar was great and regularly called and kept me informed. I rarely spoke to my case manager but they were quick to let me know what documents my lender needed and overall I'd recommend them To any first time buyer! Completely free and saved me hundreds of pounds that my previous mortgage advisor wanted. So my only costs were to my solicitors. Perfect

I intially supplied details and was told that I would have no issue's getting a mortgage (My experian score was 970 and my partners was 990, also well within borrowing limits / Salary). First application was then declined, hitting our credit score. They then advised going to TSB and a second refusal was the come back. We were then asked to provide up to date experian reports, despite the original's on;ly being 12 weeks old, costing us £30. We were promised these would be looked into and they'd get back to us as Raj, the L and C Rep couldn't see why we had been refused based on our experian scores. He then failed to get back to us or return our calls. As a result we went directly to Natwest who we've just completed with, on a comparable deal to the one's L and C where looking at. All in all L and C cost us money and had a negative affect on our credit score for nothing! Go direct, lesson learnt.

Terrible experience they try to hard sell insurance, even signed me up for life insurance i was told it was just a quote.I had to ring the insurance myself to cancel it because london and country didnt cancel it after i told them i didnt want it.My mortgage was delayed 4 weeks because they didnt pass copies of my payslips over to tsb.I ended up contacting Tsb and their conveyancing company myself and finally my mortgage should be completed very soon no thanks to london and country.I found london and country very difficult to contact and they answer like 1 email out of 10 if your lucky.This is the 2nd time i have used them the 1st time was very good.Daniel and Clarrissa were useless.

I found L&C to be most helpful. There was always someone at the end of the phone, responses were fast and reliable. Each person was knowledgeable and helpful. I had a bit of a complex property purchase request and L&C reassured me that they were able to find a solution. I am extremely satisfied with the service I received and obtained the mortgages required to purchase a new property

As a first time buyer in my 50's, London & Country couldn't have been more helpful - easy to contact, explaining details concisely & simply, and updating frequently. Made a daunting process run very smoothly. Mortgage arranged without any problems. Oliver & Shaun were so polite & ever patient! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending London & Country for mortgages .... also arranged my buildings & contents insurance too! AJ, July 2016
