“I was looking for a surveyor to produce an asbestos report. Details of 5 surveyors came up, with price estimates from £200 to £240 including VAT, which seemed reasonable.
However, when individual email responses were received form survey companies, the prices ranged from £265 to £350, without even knowing any details fo the property! I'm afraid this put me off proceeding any further.”

“Some minor delay getting report sent to me due to some web site all surveyors use, going diwn.however, once received I found the survey extensive and detailed, even though the house in question was full if furniture, floor coverings and loft packed with stored items.
I had researched prices in the area concerned, Wiltshire and this was near the cheapest so good value fir money. I probably will not be buying the house in question as to much work, repairs needed, half at least of which I would not know about if I had not had this survey so potentially saved me from huge costs.

“A great site that quickly flags up local surveyors which then goes on to describe their service, history and estimate. Bear in mind this is only a quote and there might be hidden costs even though the site states that price quoted by the surveyor includes VAT if the company is VAT registered. This is not always the case as I found out.”
