“I wanted a re-build cost for insurance purposes , and managed to get one on-line which my insurance company accepted . I will get a homebuyers survey done later . Living hundreds of miles from the property , I appreciated being put in contact with local surveyors , and will certainly consider them when I want a survey . Many thanks for your help , BK.”

“You get one price instantly, but then over the next couple of hours it seems all the companies email you with different prices which are cheaper. I think this is to do with including and not including the price for a valuation. Either way I went ahead with what I thought was the best quote, only to find an email later with a cheaper one so this was a bit annoying.”

“I found a surveyor who listened to all my concerns and produced a report that was succinct, complete and easy to comprehend. I was grateful to put my immediate concerns to him on the website and astonished that he was willing to meet with me personally ahead of the site visit. The turnaround from site visit to report was absolutely in the time frame promised which I found impressive given the pressure professionals are under. Top marks.”

“I contacted 'Local Building Surveyors' exactly a week ago and yesterday I selected one of those who had contacted me back and asked them for a home buyers' survey on the property I am hoping to purchase. They emailed me later and are arranging for the survey to be carried out today. How is that for prompt service?”

“The companies that contacted me weren't local at all, not really. One was 30 miles away another 120 miles away, so I didn't use this service at all and employed somebody directly who happened to live in the Village, the next Village along from where the house was and at half the price other companies were quoting.”

“I was very pleased by the efficient way the surveyor contacted the agent that was selling the property that I was proposing to buy. Subsequently he carried out a brilliant survey to which they decided to carry out all work that he advised to be done, I was present when he did the survey and I was very impressed and I thank him as it could have cost me thousands, unfortunately we did not go ahead with the sale. Once again I am glad I chose to have a surveyor carry out an inspection”

“Not what I expected. This doesn't find local surveyors it spams you with a selection of generic surveyors who likely pay for this service. I immediately got texts, emails and phone calls from surveyors as far away as Chippenham (buying in London). Use the www.ricsfirms.com website instead, no spam just a list of actual independent local surveyors.”
