Lion seem to have their finger on the pulse as to what we want from a supplier. Their range is comprehensive, covering traditional mouldings, value ranges and up to date contemporary styles. This can all be supplied in single lengths if needed. This means that we can display a large selection of mouldings without keeping a lot of stock. Also fantastic choice of matboards and sundries making them our main supplier. Website is easy to use. Customer service and accounts team are all friendly and helpful. Lion have helped us to grow our business. WE LOVE YOU LION

Service is excellent - friendly and professional and any problems are dealt with promptly. I use Lion for the bulk of my supplies and in particular I regularly use the chop service, which as a small gallery greatly increases my efficiency. The only suggestion I would have regarding this service is that perhaps a little more attention could be paid to quality control in spotting defects and making sure frames are a good match.

We have been purchasing from Lion for many years. They have a very large range of framing and conservation products at reasonable prices and consistently offer and excellent customer service.

Some of the sales team are more helpful than others- communication has been a problem in the past; there has been particular difficulties with some deliveries and lack of information between Lion and Tuffnels. I miss the support of a rep since Sarah left, however, I have been very impressed with the level of service provided by Archana Rajpra and this has ensured my ongoing custom

Dear team - in my opinion the service to me Village Framing as a longstanding customer has gone down since the closure of Lion South. Close the branch if you must, but then please dont it so difficult to order 'what is required' do carry out my customer framing, because you have rules in place that do not allow me to order what I want! I asked for a wrap of expensive moulding - was told 'sorry, you must order more meterage. I dont want more meterage of your £9 pm moulding to do my job!!! I was told it was too flimsy to send. Rubbish, in my opinion, it was a chunky moulding. Incidently, if i ordered 30meters of slip, that would be more flimsy!! It would seem that you are trying to make a $ on the carriage. I may be wrong. If I go to a shoe shop for a pair of shoes, or online, I am not told I must order 2 pairs. I have had these issuses applied on line too, where the site doesnt allow check out, so then have to call to resolve the matter - a pointless exercise in the first instance. If you allow small time framers into your fold, then treat them as such - otherwise make it a proper trade customer account, with appropriate trade prices. Sorry to rant! The moulding quality has definately improved over time which is great. I see no point in changing the mount board codes - such is life! Why are everest paints soooooo expensive?? I shall continue to use Lion in the future. Best wishes Malcolm Baxter

I had excellent service from Lion. I was not 100% sure of the product I needed but the member of staff very quickly was able to direct me to the items and their function. I received the goods two days later.

Service at Lion is very good! the only problem I have is for the small framing business, where sometimes a single moulding is required! in this case one has to travel all the way to lion to pick it up! even though you are willing to pay for delivery!! this is most inconvenient!

I am a painter working out of a studio at home. I used Lionpic.co.uk chop service and hanging gear to help me present my work for an upcoming exhibition. The guillotining is accurate and glass smooth. The sections of moulding are sensitively and sensibly wrapped. Hardware is if the best quality and dispatch is swift - next day for a small premium, great for last-minute workers like me. I will most certainly continue to use Lion for the foreseeable future. Thanks guys.

I have been a customer of Lion since I started framing 28 years + ago! They have always in that time, provided an excellent service and support. They are fully in tune with the needs of the industry and bring new ideas and products to their customers. The only suggestion I would like to make is that regular visits from a representative would be beneficial to us and Lion. This would keep us in touch with new mouldings and printing materials. It is not always possible to go to shows and open days when you run a busy work shop. Duncan Mitchell All Aspect Art & Print.

I find the staff at Lion very helpful and friendly. Tony Walker, the regional sales manager for the south, has given invaluable help and advice to me over the years. I miss the trade counter at Hayes and the van delivery. It means I no longer have access to the blade sharpening service and the opportunity to visit and select my goods. I find the online order system easy and quick and have got used to using the chop service. Sometimes when I would prefer to purchase lengths rather than use the chop service, I find I do not always meet the minimum order for Lion to despatch the lengths which is inconvenient. The catalogue, as always, is excellent for choosing products as the descriptions are so informative. I find I am using Lion mouldings more than I used to as they have definitely improved the range available. Definitely a favourite supplier! Just one more thing - the Smarties I received with my April order were stale and discoloured, most disappointing!!

Great service and range of products. We used the Stas hanging system. It is really easy and quick to install giving a professional look. A number of artists have inquired about the system for their studios. We are a new Gallery based in the west of Ireland and delivery was excellent even though we left it late when ordering. I can't fault the extensive range of picture framing products that are available-excellent. I don't like the constant price 'creep' that happens on many of the core items- there are occasions where items have increased on every occasion that I have re-ordered. I would be more inclined to use Lion more exclusively if the product range was subject to an annual price rise, in line with all the other suppliers I use. Now for the biggest issue with Lion- on 3 separate occasions over the last year I've had instances when ordering online and paying over £500 I've had charges on my account for up to 3 times the amount that should have been charged- on following this up with accounts I am told that this is a fault with the payment service provider- this is all well and good BUT it then takes 5 working days for the money to reappear in my account- which was then well into my overdraft!!! on the first occasion this happened I was told it was MY fault for pressing the 'complete transaction/purchase' button multiple times- this may well be the case as having pressed the button nothing happened to confirm that the payment had been made! Subsequently on my next order I then ensured that I only confirmed payment once-THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN! My bank account was then left without the correct amount of money AGAIN! I rang accounts and was told that this can happen when transactions are over £500 and that it may be best to keep the order under £500 or do 2 separate orders!?! That must be your sales departments dream having accounts staff telling customers to reduce the amount they spend???? Next order-kept UNDER the £500 'threshold' same thing happened again- couldn't be bothered to ring again- just fed up with the hassle. CHANGE YOU ONLINE PAYMENT PROVIDER!
