On the 17 April I received an email to say that my 2 pairs of morso blades had arrived at Lion, on May 1st paid for my order and received an email to confirm that. Phoned on 8th of May to ask where my blades are to be told they are "in the system " but had not been sent yet. This is too long a turnaround for blade sharpening and I'm very disappointed.

My poor refers to the packaging of the mouldings sent. The box was too big so the moulding rattled around inside causing the packaging to burst and ruining the end of the mouldings - fortunately not a disaster since I had over ordered !

We have been receiving a lot of damages over the last few months and I have had to chase your team over and over to get damages credited. Also, the couriers you use are independent van drivers a lot of the time their standards are not great, to say the least. It is little wonder we receive the stock in poor condition. Saying that all credits are now up to date, hopefully this feedback helps sort out some of these issues. Many thanks, Dave Ashton

Still waiting for an order that I placed 6 days ago, I paid the premium for next day postage too, no email or phone notification to tell me it was delayed. I'm a new customer and this service is awful.

Our chevrons can take longer than usual to send out as they are assembled in-house if you did need any urgently please let us know at time of ordering and we will aim to get them out asap. I first used C-rail hanging system for our studio refit in 2012, when we moved last Autumn I brought most of the system over and fitted out ouir new space. On two occasions since then I have bought more C-rail to extend the system. My issue with you is (1) that it is not clear that the various C-rail profiles are not the same size and (2) that an email discussion with you this week has gone quiet from your end. I expect a full response from LION at director level.

Lion have a great range of materials however since reducing their size and only using external couriers the reliability of quality goods has dropped through the floor. Almost every order for mouldings is received with some form of damage to the goods resulting in then having to wait for additional material to be sent. To top it off, I received someone else’s order this week and they received mine! Speaking with Lion and writing to Nicola seems to be pointless. They are quick to replace damaged goods which is great, but goods shouldn’t be damaged in the first place if packaged properly! I used to love dealing with Lion as they used to be a reliable supplier with their own courier service, now it’s the opposite and I’m plagued with problems so I’m now looking for alternative suppliers as Lion just don’t seem to care.

Staff good, telesales very helpful. Delivery quick. Shame the mountboards I received were the incorrect ones. Too late for me to arrange a changeover as I had to do a customers order with the wrong shade mounts the day I received them! Not helpful... well, you asked for a review!!

Ordering online was straightforward, unfortunately, DPD didn't deliver when they were supposed to, and although this wasn't the fault of Lion, the customer service I received when I contacted you to rectify this urgent problem was less than satisfactory. Staff gave the impression it wasn't really their problem which, with no way to contact DPD and an error message on my tracking number, left me with no options.

Staff on the phone approachable and helpful as can be but... the online ordering service I feel needs to be modified or clarified. When orderning moulding by Quick Order, the quanitity is presented as per metre. This would imply you can order 1, 2 3 etc metres and online it does calculate accordingly. And charge. There is no clear indication at this juncture that this quantity will be rounded to the nearest length. Also one of the lengths received was noticeably bent. Why sent? Thumbs down.

The mountboard I received (a 10 sheet pack) were inadequately wrapped. Two of the four corners of every sheet had been dented. If I order again through Lion I will insist on the corners being protected during transit.

The foamcor sheets arrived in a box which was clearly around for a while. The sheets are partially damaged with all corners unusable. Is not the first time the sheet products arrived with damaged corners, already happened with mounting board. You should be more careful with the packaging - if I pay 6£ for a board I want to it to be in perfect condition.

The DPD delivery did not arrive until after 3.30pm around 3 hours after the scheduled delivery time of 1139am - 12.39pm. We could have saved money by having normal delivery and the package arriving on Monday as 3.30 on a Friday is not really much help.

The last two orders have comprised good quality mouldings, wrapped, straight and undamaged, and two pieces of "rejects", unwrapped, bowed, damaged, unusable pieces which should not have even been kept in stock, let alone sent to a customer. As a result, I have had to get replacements, involving extra delay, which has impacted on a gallery. The recent replacements were apparently sent by overnight service (as I was told by phone), but took 5 days and were delivered to an address several miles away. I had to go and collect these myself. For the inclusion of below-standard pieces of moulding to have happened in both orders leads me to suspect that this is a deliberate policy to get rid of pieces that you would otherwise be unable to sell. This is unacceptable.

Sadly your next-day offer is a bit ironic. Bad weather meant the courier couldn't get to me, which I quite understand. But two emails that 'we called and you were out' were irksome since I was unable to get out. Instead of the courier waiting until the road is clear and delivering then, I seem to have to drive 7 miles to a drop off point to do the courier's job for him or her. I ordered nearly a week ago. Not Lion's fault, but you did ask. New courier perhaps? Still no goods. Royal Mail and Parcel Force do well round here - they know their patch.

Hi Christopher, Sorry to hear you are having problems with your delivery. Have you contacted anybody here at Lion regarding the issues? I can see from the tracking details DPD are suggesting it was attempted twice last week, on the 18th and 19th. They have uploaded an image of a red door on both occasions? I will email you those images across, just to double-check if that is the correct premises? If it is their error; I don't see why you should go out of your way to collect from Depot/Pick Up shop, so will try and get that changed. Apologies again for the delay on your order, it left ourselves last Wednesday. Regards George

a minimum order of £50 for smaller items has got to be a backward step, carriage paid on orders over £90 is fair but to not allow orders of any size under £50 even if the customer is willing to pay carriage is ridiculous, that just forces customers to go to other suppliers, of course you cannot send 1 mount board or 1 length of moulding

Having initially been happy with the cost and range of Lion mouldings and products, I have had a consistent period of poor quality mouldings sent to me. When contacting to resolve these issues, the process has been extremely lengthy (requiring extensive photos and explanations). Adding to this, numerous mistakes have been made by accounting when issueing credit notes and refunds. Unfortunately the attitude when calling to resolve these problems has been one of apathy from staff and no sense that they would resolve the issues promptly and efficiently; indeed some problems were never resolved and required further calls. I have also been sent the wrong moulding on 3 occasions in recent times. Having taken the matter to Director level, the attitude was that my experience is 'not typical of our service' and as such was not considered worth looking into, despite clear repetitive issues occuring that could be improved, such as constant issues with accounting procedures (misleading credit notes automatically produced and sent out by your system etc...). The result of all this is that I now consider Lion mouldings to be a false economy and too time consuming on my part to resolve the constant issues. Although the quality of the mouldings sent has generally improved in recent times, I have decided to change my main supplier of mouldings as I cannot justify the time that has been wasted having to resolve issues and worrying about the quality of what will be sent to me every time I make an order. I hope you will find this feedback constructive in helping you to improve your service. Thank you.

Nothing went wrong with the staff. They are always polite and helpful. It's the restrictions when ordering. For a small framer £30 minimum order for a chop service or consumables and £50 for lengths is unsustainable. If l'm paying for delivery then what's the problem? I am in the south and having used Lion in Hayes, l now feel like an unvalued customer. I have spent a lot of money with Lion. Your competitors are much more flexible and offer excellent customer service.
