“The 20kg bag of Mapei Marble and Stone adhesive had been secured at one corner with staples and sealing tape, suggesting that the bag had been burst then resealed before dispatch. It will be some weeks before I am able to use this product because the tiles I have ordered elsewhere are currently out of stock. The contents feel fine just now but I will monitor their condition closely and report any deterioration that may occur while I am waiting for the tiles to be delivered.”

Thanks for your comments George. Mapei Bags of adhesive have a folded seal on the base of the bag ...as an extra precaution to make sure that the purchase arrives safely we put a staple through the flap and seal so that nothing is spilt in transit. The product is brand new and can be used up to 12 months from the manufacturing date on the side of the bag.

“Found the website difficult to follow. Took half an hour to order;couldn't seem to order the product/colour combined. Got there in the end. Appreciated phone call afterwards which confirmed order placed and when it would be delivered. Not delighted by the wait of several days.”

“Delivery etc. was very good - no complaints. The only slight issue I found was the quality of the packaging. The bag containing tile adhesive was ripped which could possibly lead to the adhesive absorbing humidity from the environment. However, a plastic bag will sort this out... Overall a very good experience and will use again. Adriaan”

“Ordering process pretty quicker and delivery was when it said it would be. However 3 bags of the adhesive were bust open and there contents spilled on my drive when off loading from the pallet. This was because the person who put them on there put the bags on nails protruding from the pallet. I contacted the company and they asked for photos which I sent. Offered to replace but tiling had started so I had to purchase more at the tile shop. So I am left out of pocket.”

Paula, we're very sorry that you experienced problems with this order. On rare occasions the tops of pallet nails can come through the pallet due to movement during transport and some of the contents can be lost if the bags are dragged off. With photo evidence of the damaged goods we can usually collect the damaged goods and turn round a priority replacement extremely quickly, but we're sorry that on this occasion we could not do so in time for your project.
