colour representation on the website was poor. The yarn I received appeared several shades different from the advertised photograph. It was unsuitable for the project and had to be returned. A faff and rather negates the convenience of ordering wool online. As this is so pivotal to being a satisfied customer I would hope that Laughing Hens can get their photographic colour illustration on the website more accurate. This has been suggested to them.

I ordered 4 balls of sock wool which arrived quite quickly, unfortunately I had made a mistake and 2 of the balls were DK and I prefer 4ply for socks. I duly parcelled up the wool, put the original receipt in the bag and sent it off. I emailed 3 times and finally had to call to get the refund for the 2 balls weeks later. If I hadn't chased this up in certain the refund wouldn't have been made, I'm sorry to say its put me off ordering from them again.

Ordered my yarn November 26 for delivery to Canada. By late December it still hadn't arrived and I had received no notifications from Laughing Hens about shipping information. I sent them an email with no response. Early January I sent a second email. All of a sudden I received shipping information. I can only assume that my order had been forgotten but I can't say for sure as I never received a reply to either of my emails. I do not consider this to be good customer service. I felt like I was just a number..no personal touch at all..no explanation and no apology

Store did not get the address right in the label (omitted the street name and number) and parcel consequently too a month to get to Australia from uK. Website is misleading. I thought it was based in Australia not uK.

Ordered product Jan 6/25 still haven’t received confirmation it has been shipped. (Usually ships 1-2 business days????????) Big change in the shipping and receiving over the past year.

I wasn't too impressed when I ordered a pattern and got a photocopy instead of the of the real thing , having paid full price. Order attended to promptly.

Ordered wool , planned project . Then got refund as wool not available . Really need to ensure their online stock is up to date . Very disappointing !

Hello, Apologies we did not have enough stock to cover your order. To our best knowledge, our stock levels on our website are up-to-date and run on a live update system. However, sometimes there can be some stock discrepancies between our order management system and our warehouse. A rare side-effect of a busy warehouse and high volumes of sales! The wool I am happy with but the service I am not. I had a delivery of 32 balls of wool, my last order, and as the bag was not up to the job love lost two balls. I have sent two text to you and no response so I am upset, I am of to minds about ordering agiain.

I have contacted you twice for a refund for the yarn I purchased! This is the first time you have contacted me about my purchase. The pink color looks more like raspberry. In reality, it is more a baby pink. Please send me a return label so that I may return the yarn and get a refund for my purchase as soon as possible! Georgianne Villarin

Hello, Thank you for your message, i have received both of your emails and have replied to you on the 30/01 and the 23/02 i have forwarded these on to you again. Colours can vary depending on what device you are using and we are only allowed to use images supplied to us by our suppliers on our webiste. I made 2 orders but had 2 go elsewhere for wool because there was not enough stock. I was given the choice to wait or choose something else.

I ordered knitting needles from Laughing Hens because they were of a size and brand difficult to purchase in the USA, only to have them sent to me in completely inadequate packaging -- thrown in a long envelope with no protection -- and therefore completely bent and useless on arrival. It's difficult to comprehend why a company that specializes in shipping fragile items like this would not have learnt by now that 2.25 mm 14" long needles shipped in a mere envelope are guaranteed to arrive damaged!

I have spent hours and hours knitting my friends baby blanket and didn’t notice until it was completely finished that I was sent wool in different dye lots!! I could see it as soon as it had been blocked and pressed. I am so gutted….

Hi I am writing in response to your request for feedback. I have not had a problem with Laughing Hens and the service they provide, but I am dissappointed about the quality of the yarn I purchased. The only yarn that I have used so far is the Regia Design Line by Arne & Carlos 03658 Winter Night. I purchased this, along with another regia yarn and a ball of West Yorkshire Spinners sock yarn, in May this year, but did not begin knitting until yesterday. As I used this yarn for knitting a sock, there have been sections that are very thin and fragile. I have included one photo of a section of yarn and another of the yarn on the needle so that you can see the difference between most of the yarn and the thin sections. I cut out and spliced the yarn on the first two occasions that I met a very thin section, but found that there are so many that this is not viable. So far, I have only knitted about 2 inches of the first sock, but I am reluctant to knit any more as I am concerned about the integirty of the final knitted item.

No communication Had to fight to get 10% discount I was promised. Parcel arrived torn and had to be contained in a post office bag. Will not be trading with this company again.

The colour of this yarn differed vastly from the website photo and the colour name of almond. I wrote and received a reply as follows. Sorry, the reply has copied first. I never received my promised 10% discount refund. Thank you for your email, I can see there is a difference in the yarn colour from the image on our website to the image you have sent us, I can only apologise for this, unfortunately we are only able to use images that our supplier supplies us with. I have added the 10% to your new order for the cream and have refunded the difference back to you, as soon as we receive the almond back we will issue a refund. Apologies again for this. Hi to all at Laughing Hens. I have to say that my experience with you was not great. In addition to the cost of the wool and post, I had to pay an additional duty charge because the UK is no longer in the EU. Also the pattern I ordered was no. 5342 King Cole and I received no. 5542. Hello Marian, Many thanks for your feedback. Sorry to hear you have been charge an additional duty - you should not of been charge this. We sometimes hear customers are getting incorrectly charged by customs. Please send the receipt for this and we will be happy to reimburse you. Pattern 5342 was incorrectly labelled by King Cole as 5542. We have contacted King Cole to advise them of this error and to request they send us the correct one.
