“I don’t often write reviews. However, I feel compelled to say how my newly purchased Anthracite Dinkleys have surprised me.
I expected good, but at the same time I expected it to take a while to appreciate them fully.
I expected them to be a bit tough to wear in, as I learned as a kid with traditional school shoes, and leather hiking boots 🥾 But honestly, they were fabulous as soon as I put them on my feet!
The leather felt buttery soft, the cushioned insoles and rubber outsole were just so comfy straight off the bat. No rubbing atall. Not only that, but being laced, you can wrap them up around your feet so they literally feel like a big warm hug 🤗 I love them.”

Last year I bought a pair of size 4 dinkley bottle green. I'm still trying to break them in. At the moment I'm trying them with just thick socks. Inside they feel fine, but stairs and uphill do make them rub the heels. Would an insole make it better? Or if I buy another pair,should I go for a 3,5? Thinking of Langho. Most of our footwear will fit snug on the first few wears. Our footwear is leather lined, which will take a bit of breaking in, however once broken in they will mold to your foot shape and allow for a very comfortable fit.
With regards to your shoes fitting quite tight, our official advice for this would be to persist on wearing them around the house / carpeted area with thick socks on initially. We advise this because whenever the shoes are worn outside then this would breach our returns policy, should you want to return the shoes (all information can be found here: https://lanxshoes.com/pages/returns-exchanges).
If they feel good length ways but snug width ways, then I would suggest that this is the correct dating for you, however if you feel that a 3.5UK would work better then it is worth a try. We offer free delivery and free returns so feel free to order a pair to try whenever the time is right.

“I thought that the Grenson brogues which I bought 3 years ago were the most painful shoes that I had ever worn, that is until my Lanx arrived. The shoes themselves (Wilpshire in dark green) are beautiful. I also knew that the last was a D and that this would be on the narrow side for me, so I sized up to a 6 as per your suggestion.
I had to force my left foot into the shoe and immediately experienced a painful, crushing sensation on the outside of my foot! I laced them up loosely and then put on the right foot which was a tad easier to get on. By the time I had driven the 6 miles to my sister's, I was in so much pain that I had to take the things off.
I am now left with a massive dilemma.....should I return them to you as they are clearly not fit for purpose, even though I have worn them in contact with the ground for only 6 feet (car to front door), or do I retain them and admire their beauty?
Please let me have your suggestion as I cannot possibly wear them again. The leather is really hard but I suspect that if the shoe was a bit wider, then the leather would soften up eventually - a bit like the Grensons. However, I don't like the design of the E fitting shoes in your range.
Either way, I am down over ÂŁ100 and not amused!!

If this doesn't quite fix the tightness issue then there is another option; your local shoe repair / cobbler shop should have the facilities to stretch your shoes for you, to allow for a little extra room. “I am left feeling a little underwhelmed and I wouldn’t normally feel the need to write a review.
I love the boots and the quality is fab. However at least 4 eyelets have either broken apart or come out completely.
When I emailed Land my choices were to take to a cobblers near me at my cost, or send back but it would take 3 weeks as they are busy.
Just don’t think this is the best way to deal with it given they are a decent price.
Honestly love the boots though and will probably just put up with it.”

The options that were given to you is, at the moment, the only 2 options we have available to offer you for repairing these eyelets. The timeframe given was an honest estimation of how long these repairs take as we enter our busiest time of the year for both returns and processing as well as our repairs team.
The option of sending eyelets was only if you required a fast turnaround for this repair, which would have been met with compensation from our end with something like LANX credits or a partial refund for your order to cover the cost of repairs. Apologies that this wasn't outlined in my email.
We are, of course, more than happy to repair these for you, which will be done as soon as possible by our small team of warehouse staff and our shoe repairer.
