“I absolutely love my Lanx boots, by far the comfiest I have ever worn. I am reviewing after a few months and they are still like new after several wears.
The box they arrived in, just classy. The smell when opening the box was like I'd landed in shoe heaven and been slapped in the face by a big leather belt. The free socks just made the arrival that much better and as Marv says on the box 'they are proper shoes' which went on my feet immediately just to walk round the house.
I could tell instantly how well made they were and I expect to get a lot of use out of them, I already know I'll never buy boots from anywhere else, they are absolutely class and the missus even likes them.
If you are in doubt just buy some. Trust me. I got the Bayley distressed brown - sensational.

Blistering / rubbing is, unfortunately, something that is very common, especially in shoes that use very high quality thicker leather, as we do here at LANX. LANX leather is 1.6mm - 1.8mm thick.
Our footwear is leather lined, which will take a bit of breaking in, however once broken in they will mould to your foot shape and allow for a comfortable fit.
At this stage I would recommend that you persist with wearing them as much as you can, with thick socks and maybe plasters to cover the affected areas of your feet. This is the fastest way of breaking in leather footwear.
Your friendly and often very helpful local cobblers shop should also be able to stretch your shoes, to allow for a little extra room. This will help make them fit better. To find your local cobblers please visit the Society of Master Shoe Repairers website... https://www.somsr.com/home

“I ordered my normal size. Whalley black grained. Super excited to receive them. They looked fabulous. However, when wearing them, as I walk they squeak like mad. The leather / the whole boots just squeak. I emailed ages ago and was told to email someone else which I did but they were no help at all. I can’t wear them at all as the noise when I walk in them is highly embarrassing like I’m wearing a pair of cheap boots. Very disappointed as they are now just stuck in my wardrobe and I was given no help from Lanx with regards to how to fix the problem.”

You do sometimes experience squeaking with real leather shoes, and more often than not this comes from the tongue of the shoes rubbing on the inside of the rest of the shoe.
Remove the shoelaces to give you full access to the tongue, and then treat it with saddle soap or leather conditioner. Apply that with a soft cloth until you’ve coated the entire tongue and that should lubricate the leather enough to prevent squeaking.
(Note: Always first check an inconspicuous part of the leather to verify that the saddle soap or conditioner doesn’t cause discoloration.)
If the squeaking comes from the insole / inside the shoe, then this can be caused by excess moisture inside the shoe. Let the shoe dry before wearing them again, or apply baby powder under the insole to dry the footbed.

“Shoes are great - I ordered two pairs different styles - returned one pair for exchange. Customer service for this exchange for a different style has been awful. After I returned the shoes Alex - supposed customer service manager emailed me for clarification on style etc which I returned email that day. Since then nothing despite numerous emails from me. LANX have no phone number to call. Next step is small claims court and trading standards. Very sad as the pair I have kept are excellent. I suppose the moral is if a web site has no contact number don't buy from that site.”

I'd nipped into the Northern Quarter shop last weekend to do a bit of trying on and Max, the store manager, is genuinely so most helpful and friendly!
Really surprised that they use a decent sized last which means I can actually buy their boots in the size I am and not half a size bigger!
The boots (whalley bottle green) are beautiful. You can tell how much care and attention goes into each pair. They are pretty heavy, but I do like that in a boot. The soles are superior to any boot I've ever tried before, and I've tried a fair few over the years!
I've only started the breaking in stage so currently just wearing them around the house, but I can tell they are going to be so comfy!
In short, buy Lanx shoes, they'll be the best you ever own!”
