“Gyour website shows a quantity of 10 which I ordered . I received 1 only I emailed your sales department and was told that the 10x meant to a dimension The dimension is described by the bulb part number! It looks like a deliberate scam to me”

Hi Roger, I have just checked your order and can see that you ordered just one bulb. The description states 10x28mm which refers to the of the bulb not the quantity Regards Service Team

“Ben arranged to send me G9 25 watt halogen oven bulbs. They are ok for up to 300 degrees, and are unavailable from all the local suppliers who only stock LED's. He advised me to get the guy who fitted the oven to make sure they went in the right way successfully. Thanks again Ben and General Lamps.”

“I searched online for the 9w dimmable LED bulbs I especially wanted and was pleased to see that General Lamps had them available to order. However, when they arrived they were rated as 7.5W. The response I received when I queried this was: 'the 7.5 watt version is a replacement for the 9 watt due to the fact that this is the natural successor, as the higher wattage version is now discontinued'. It seems to me therefore not only that the lamps being advertised by General Lamps were not in stock, but were never likely to be re-stocked as they no longer existed. Can companies do this? There was no suggestion of an 'equivalent rating' when I ordered the 9w bulbs. If my electrician is unhappy with 7.5s they're going back.”

Hi Barry, LED is an evolving technology so as the perfmance of LEDs improves the light output increases. Manufacturers then reduce the wattage of their bulbs to ensure that the light level remains the same , hence a 9w bulb becomes a 7.5w bulb. There is no loss of light the bulb will produce exactly the same amount of light but in this case you save 1.5w of power per lamp , meaning even greater savings in electricity whilst maintaining the same light output.
