I ordered a desk chair and specifically paid for next day delivery, only to discover that Lakeland Furniture has delivered the wrong item and has instead provided a bar stool. Very disappointed.

Avoid! Very poor quality products! Laughable customer service! I wish I had read some of the reviews online before purchasing from Lakeland Furniture. You can ignore the reviews on their website as they are all positive. I of course understand why they wouldn’t include the negative reviews. It seems I am one of many who have experienced similar problems with quality of product and also sending out the wrong products. I ordered a grey Scanon office chair order number 140048789. When it arrived I found a manufacturing defect where the seams on the chair were not stitched. I emailed Lakeland Furniture with photos and they asked if I was prepared to keep the chair for a £25 refund. I told them no I wasn’t. If I was to use the chair the split would only get worse. They arranged to send out a replacement chair. Unfortunately the replacement chair they sent was the wrong one. They did say I could keep it instead of the one I ordered but I told them I actually wanted the chair I ordered. At this point there was an offer of a £10 good will gesture plus a new correct chair would be sent out and the previous chair collected. I did receive an email stating ‘Please be advised the refund (goodwill gesture) has been issued and will be in your account within 3-5 working days’. This was a lie as it was never processed. The replacement chair arrived but had the same defective stitching. Clearly quality control is very poor. By this time I had lost confidence in the product and asked them to collect and give me a full refund. They did this but there was no goodwill gesture. When I asked why I was told ‘The gesture of good will is paid back to you from your own money.’ I found that quite funny and certainly won’t lose any sleep over it. If they carry on like this they will however lose plenty of customers. I would not use Lakeland Furniture again.

Having spoke to the support team they have informed me that the 10% was offered against the order as it was and therefore as you no longer kept the item they have refunded you the full amount. I have complained that I can't put together the chair as two of the bolts are too short to reach the threads. I've had one response, but no follow up to actually solve the issue. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that you're selling a chair for this much money that actually can't be put together. It's also ridiculous that you can send me a survey asking my how everything has been, but not actually solve the issue I've got.

Still awaiting the barstools ordered. The wrong ones were delivered and have been collected. Rating withheld but so far underwhelmed by Lakeland Furniture.

Secondhand item sent, packaging including tool pack had been previously opened and used. Base of furniture scratched. Discussion had with customer care. They initially refused to remove their waste, then after considerable effort from me offered to collect the whole item. SCAMMERS who tried very hard to get away with me disposing of their industrial waste. Person emailing was unhelpful and tried to make sorting the issue difficult - we are now buying our office furniture from a more reliable cheaper competitor who offer same items and much better service

Not impressed by customer service. Once they have sent the item to their courier (who is also poor) they are not interested in helping to ensure you actually receive the item. The courier is not flexible on deliveries and its not possible to speak to someone by phone so all in all a really poor experience.

Great dispatch and delivery timing. Product looks great once assembled. However frustratingly that there was a bolt missing and also the holes to attach the seat to the frame were not aligned. Luckily we had the tools to re-drill otherwise we would have needed to return the item. Would not reorder this item

Unfortunately all 3 of the stools I've bought have scagged very easily and one of the stools has come apart, where the seat and backs join. Such a shame as apart from the poor quality of the faux leather and stitching, they're great looking and comfortable stools.

I ordered the chair and it arrived within a few days. No instructions were enclosed, but it is fairly obvious how it goes together so not a problem. However, one part of the sleeve that covers the gas piston was split. This sleeve prevents grease getting onto clothes when in use and dirt getting on to the piston. I submitted an enquiry online and suggested that I could try to repair it but would prefer a replacement. I received no response - although Lakeland said that they sent one. I had an ‘online chat’ with Lakeland. The suggestion by Lakeland was that the part was not important as it could be thrown away during assembly. An odd response as the part has a function - and is shown as part of the chair on their website photos. However, I was told a duplicate of the email would be sent - and the chat was abruptly closed down by Lakeland. No email arrived, despite checking my junk folders and asking Lakeland to confirm the email address they were sending to. I have since sent an email to Lakeland’s support. Their response effectively says to leave them alone and wait … I am still waiting with bits of chair part assembled - while I still wait and wait. How many customers have problems that I am having to wait in this queue so long? I thought I was being helpful in offering to try and repair the damaged sleeve - but Lakeland appear to have no intentions of being helpful. Meanwhile - I wait.

Travelled 20 miles to collect my order from the depot but was told they could not find it. 4 days later and still waiting for them to contact me to advise the situation.

You had 57 chairs on website I paid for them only 4 needed. 2 day’s later out of stock sorry. Refund wife not happy

I would gladly review your product if only I had received it. I waited in all day yesterday for a delivery - but nothing came. All Yodel could offer was to return the items and arrange a refund. Not impressed!!!

Stools are lovely but service is rubbish. Paid £14.99 for next day delivery... took day off work waited in all day.... guess what they didn’t arrive..... couldn’t call office as said delivery till 9pm then offices had closed. Had to wait in another day... said would be here between 9-11am didn’t come till 12!!! Jokers
