About Kakoa:

Kakoa the UK's biggest selection of vegan chocolate flavours.

Back in 2019 when Rich’s wife turned vegan he wanted to treat her with some chocolate but was left surprised with the lack of innovation and choice available.

He took matters into his own hands and made some vegan milk chocolates in his kitchen.

After a few months and with the help of his brother Michael KAKOA was born. The name KAKAO is German for cocoa (although with the O and A the wrong way round as we like to be different!), is a nod to the brothers German mother who was very supportive as the business grew.

Biodegradable packaging
When we started out, we made a promise that all our packaging would be 100% biodegradable. It still is and always will be.

UK’s biggest selection vegan chocolate flavours
Currently we have 19 flavours of vegan chocolate, the biggest in the UK. We believe plant based is the future of chocolate.

Award winning chocolate
We think our chocolate is epic but it’s nice when other people think the same. We are proud to have won our first Great Taste Award.

“We tried a selection of Kakoa packs recently and were extremely impressed with the quality and flavours of the vegan chocolates. We agreed that they are on a parr, if not better than, Hotel Chocolates 'normal' chocolates so we have just bought the 48 chocolate box ready for Christmas but we might hide them just for ourselves after everyone has gone home, why waste them on family and friends 😋😋😋”

“Very disappointed. The chocolates arrived in good time and were well-packaged. Unfortunately, they were a dull, almost greyish colour and I wondered if they weren't tempered correctly? The insides were quite hard except for the peanut butter and Turkish delight chocolates. I tried all the flavours to give it a good test, hoping it was just a few rogue chocolates but didn't like any of them and threw the rest away. Sorry. I really wanted to love them as well and couldn't wait to open them when they arrived. Thanks anyway.”

“A fun idea but not well executed sadly - the chocolate has little flavour and a plasticky texture. Really disappointed!”

“I saw a clip about Kakoa on an episode of John Terode travelling around Ireland. I was very taken with what I saw of Kakoa and so I ordered a small selection of chocolates to discover myself how they are. I was very happy with my chocolates when they arrived. They are rich and delicious, and beautifully presented. I will be ordering more as Christmas presents. Thank you.”

“We were very pleased to receive a selection gift box last Christmas and enjoyed them very much. We looked to re-order some items during the year. However we have been disappointed on a couple of occasions, ie: (i) you did not offer a plain chocolate Easter Egg and (ii) you do not offer a facility to choose a box of your own favourite chocolates. It is rather a "take it or leave it" attitude, which is a real shame. We really want to support vegan-only organisations and have just made a purchase from you but we would have bought more if choose-your-own was made available.”
