“We started with a no fee broker and got left in the lurch so we switched to John Charcol. I heard they had a good reputation for handling more complex cases and they didn't dissapoint. Shaahid was very knowledgeable and experienced and advised me very well. He's a hardworking chap and didn't leave me waiting around for an answer. Shaahid saved me money too by renewing the offer when the rates had gone down as I was buying at the most expensive time where rates were concerned. The customer service in general was great. Once the mortgage offer was received Katherine took the reigns and she was fantastic. I didn't need to chase anyone Katherine was on the case 110% shepherding all parties towards completion copying me in to all the emails so I could see all the developments without having to pick up the phone to anyone. Thank you both again for a great service and for keeping going when the first house fell through. I would certainly recommend you!”

All members of staff were clear and transparent on every step of the way with the mortgage application/Life Insurance. “Buying a house in the UK while living abroad was initially a scary, complex process, but Jenny and Gemma at john Charcol made the whole process simple and easy and the customer service was terrific!!! They understood my time constraints and made a really complex process so easy! I was so lucky to have had these two ladies on my team from start to finish, even following up after the purchase to make sure things had gone smooth. 10/10 recommend and would use again!”

“This is a belated review, but thank-you Charcol and especially Darren Peiris and Emily Gould who acted with professionalism throughout our bridging transaction last year. They offered clear advice at each stage, as well as welcome moral support, even though external factors causing a delay in registering titles resulted in a much delayed completion. They saw the task through to conclusion with patience and good humour.”

“I had a fantastic experience with Louise Brown at John Charcol. Louise supported my wife and I from pre-offer stage to completion. In what proved to be a particularly challenging transaction to close, Louise was consistently responsive, insightful, patient and supportive. It's not overstating it to say we may not have been able to close the transaction without Louise's support.”

“As expats, we needed to secure a mortgage for buying a property on returning to the UK. Iain Pithers contacted us and dealt with our requirements, dealing with us promptly and courteously throughout the process. He has been on hand when we needed advice and guidance. “Randeep who handled our mortgage application on behalf of John Charcol made the whole process as smooth as possible. “I'm an expat and I needed to remortgage a property in the UK and several lenders had already declined to offer a BTL product to an expat. Iain Pithers was able to source a suitable deal and was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the seeming jungle that is the UK mortgage system, which is even more complicated for expats. Based on my experience I can recommend Iain very highly.”

“From the first call with Gordon Berkert, we knew we had the right person working on our behalf. We asked for honesty and updates in good time and we got exactly that. We came to John Charcol after an alternative company spent 6 weeks processing our mortgage application, only for the lender to advise on the day of valuation they didn’t lend on the property we were buying. Gordon listened to what we wanted and found us exactly the right mortgage. He also connected us with a John Charcol Insurance expert, Daniel Smith, who got us all the cover we wanted and saved us £400 a year into the bargain. Once we got through the application process, we were looked after by a fab Client Relationship team, primarily talking to Cristian Lupu. The whole team have really made us feel valued as clients and we couldn’t recommend John Charcol highly enough. We completed on our property today and are thrilled. Thank you Gordon, Daniel, Cristian and everyone else at John Charcol who helped get us into our dream home.”

“The service I received from Mark Brazier and Emma Moores was the best I have received from a Financial Services provider in the past 20 years!
