“Stephen Brown as an absolute star and made the whole process of re-mortgaging our buy to let property a joy - despite the best efforts of the solicitor to make it a nightmare! Patient and happy to spend time explaining things. Would highly recommend.”

“Stephen has helped me rearrange my interest only mortgage and also reduced the charges by nearly a hundred pounds . Over the last seven years or so I have found him always generous with his time and always more than helpful, always going the extra mile and really caring in his help and advice. “A huge thank you to John Charcol, especially to Karolina, our mortgage adviser and client relationship manage Zerena, who worked tirelessly to assist us with remortgaging our property in the UK all the way from Australia. This process was quite difficult and challenging due to our status as expats and the fact that our payslips were no longer in pounds. However, whenever challenges arose, the ladies guided us through until the process was completed. Their communication was outstanding; they considered our time difference and often called us directly, making communication effective from both sides. We will definitely use John Charcol again for all our remortgaging needs and will recommend them to our friends and family.”

“It is an absolute honour and a privilege to have Heather McLennan act as my mortgage broker. It is my first house purchase so the process seemed very daunting. However Heather has held my hand through every step of the process. Heather is highly skilled and conducts herself in the most professional manner. This process has been smooth and has accelerated at speed. Heather has enabled me to feel confident, assured, in control and has taken away any anxiety and stress I had prior. She displayed empathy and has been consistently supportive throughout this whole process. Heather also made recommendations for other professional bodies of which I went a head with and they certainly delivered! Heather went above and beyond with her accessibility and correspondence even beyond office hours. “I was a bit of a tricky case as a first time buyer; single, not a great salary, bit of a past credit-wise, old as the hills and with a teen dependent. I had a decent deposit on my side and a boringly safe job, but definitely not a slam dunk. I spoke to a couple of brokers who were less than interested, and went with one who failed to properly listen to my circumstances and proceeded to get me declined for a mortgage. Then I found Heather McLennan at John Charcol, who took the time to listen to what I said, and managed to find me mortgage with a high st lender at a competitive rate. Not only that but she did it in record time, communicating all the way through and making sure I had all the info. Despite the time pressure (my vendor was about to pull out I was taking so long) I never felt rushed or pressured. Heather is an absolute whiz at what she does and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.”
