“Oliver Barker was amazing throughout the whole process. He was patient and understanding and always made things easy to understand and always took the time to break things to to ensure I had understood. He always had answers to my questions. “Terrible experience using John Charcol. The process took 3 months. My advisor booked 3 calls - then didn't turn up for them (apologised later). My advisor booked a further 2 meetings which were each pushed back a week because they had decided to take last minute annual leave. I had previously remortgaged myself from start to finish in 2 weeks. I went to John Charcol for professional advice. They took 3 months from start to finish and were incompetent at most steps including double charging fees. I paid the valuation fees for my mortgage illustration from John Charcol and the lender. The advisor then called back later to say the illustration I had been offered was no longer on offer and they would change it. After completing and paying the fees to John Charcol via the new mortgage - I was sent a 14 day demand to pay the £995 fee again. This was very stressful and I was pressured to pay. Subsequently John Charcol apologised for their mistake and refunded me the second fee that had already been paid. Because the process took so long using John Charcol the interest on my credit card consolidation meant it would have been cheaper to use a faster more efficient broker. I would strongly advise against using John Charcol based on my experience.”

“I have been working with the ultimate professional Nicola Jones. She always phoned on time then sent follow up emails. Spent time patiently explaining all the details in an easy to understand way. She got us a fantastic deal on a remortgage and congratulate us on completion. Highly recommend and would use this companies services again”

“Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. We had a slightly complicated situation because we were moving back to the UK from abroad and didn’t want to get tied into a rental contract. So we were trying to buy our first house on a tight schedule, from abroad and with patchy U.K. address history. Adam made it all very straightforward, and went above and beyond in fielding questions on all aspects of house buying. Thoroughly recommend this service- for what you get, it’s extremely good value. I’ll definitely be using them again in future!”

“The whole team at John Charcol are fantastic! Scott arranged our mortgage and his expertise really shone through as we discussed a number of options and chose the most appropriate together. He then chased the lender for quick turnaround times and kept us informed at every stage. Molly and her team then made sure the transaction process ran smoothly and acted as an intermediary to try and and make sure that all parties were always kept informed of current progress Daniel then arranged our life and critical insurance and re designed our policies to maximise the amount of cover we now have for less of a monthly premium than we were expecting to pay. Tim was also always on hand for help and advice and we always felt supported even during holiday season when members of the team were off. Thanks all, you all played your part in getting this transaction over the line”

“A big thank you to Hailey Kow, Hayley Sydes and Tiara for helping us buy our dream home in Spain. We were not an easy case due to unconventional properties, self employment etc but we got there in the end.
