“Independent Cottages is my favorite Holiday Online Directory - The enquiries are very genuine and very often lead to a booking. Enquiries from other sites very often do not result in bookings as the guests seem to be 'shopping around' for cheap deals. The Booking system is so easy and listing all the visitors arrival and departure dates is so helpful, I cut and paste it and keep it on my wall for a quick reference. I also like the fact that it does not let you double book a cottage - it has saved me several times ! Adding photos and moving them around is easy and Sarah writes some excellent information on the cottage advertised and I imagine researches the area it is in. The annual cost is excellent and very fair unlike one of the other directories in particular who try and force you to take commission only listings. The Search Engine Optimisation is excellent and my cottages are always near the top of Google on Page One, which is not easy I know ! There are loads of directories listing Holidays so very competitive, I let out several cottages for other people and always recommend Independent Cottages, I have another to go on with them shortly.”

“I find Independent Cottages very easy to use. The owner login is straightforward, as is the ability to change details. The calendar is especially easy to use. I like the idea of the website as a portal for potential guests to browse properties whilst allowing me to keep control of my bookings, and there are no hidden costs or fees. I do get fed up with some other companies who allow guests to book and even pay without my involvement. That system might suit a bigger hotel but my cottage is next to where we live and I like to have some idea of who is booking. I think guests appreciate this - they have also said the website is straightforward. When I set up my advert and had a few initial queries, Sarah responded promptly and helpfully, giving me tips on how to boost bookings. I would have no hesitation in recommending Independent Cottages for anyone wanting to advertise their property but still keep control of bookings.”

“I have just listed my property with Independent Cottages. I have been very impressed with their attention to detail and the efficient way they have set me up. They sent me an initial draft and were very quick to make the slight changes I requested. They even helped with the syncing of my booking calendar to show active availability. “I decided to sign up to Independent Cottages last year as I like their model; we the owners, take charge of the bookings. No instant book, no extra booking fees for guests, no pressure to rate everything, no wrist slapping when you decide not to accept a booking! Just a simple person to person transaction without the middle man getting in the way and taking a slice of the rental from both parties. All holiday lets on the site are verified and staff are quick to respond to enquiries. I very much hope that there online presence continues to grow and I get all my bookings through their site.”

“We have been advertising with Independent Cottages for a year now, and have been very pleased with the service provided, and the business generated for our holiday cottage in Snowdonia, North Wales. The advertising rates are very reasonable compared to many other accommodation and letting websites. The proprietor, Sarah, has provided extremely efficient and helpful customer service. She set up our listing for us using material from our own website, and there was no problem with making changes and additions to our advert - these were dealt with efficiently and with no extra charges. We consider Independent Cottages to now be one of the leading UK sites for owners to advertise their holiday homes to seek bookings that are made directly with the owner (rather than through the many impersonal 'one-click' direct online booking sites that now dominate modern holiday accommodation marketing !) . “There is always someone to answer your calls if there is a query about anything. It seems to be Sarah who answers them as well which is good. I am able to update my cottage as often as I like so it comes to the top of the list for the area. This is certainly an advantage if I am able to access the computer. Also, Independent Cottages seems to be always fairly high on the Google listing if you put "Self Catering in the Lake District". People who book on Independent Cottages say it is also a bit cheaper as the cottage owner is not paying a large amount in agency fees. The one off payment each year is relatively low anyway and I've just had the first booking of the year via Independent Cottages. I do mention you to other cottage owners if they ask.”

“We have advertised with various different organisations, but Independent Cottages comes top for us for a variety of reasons. Requests for information come direct, and as there is an active calendar the contacts are generally requesting valid bookings. It is easy to edit and change details online. And using Google Analytics Indepemdent Cottages often appear as our top refering site. Great value for money - annual fee and no further charges”
