“Independent Cottages have always been really helpful and very quick to deal with any queries/problems. I have been with them for about 4 years, having never rented out a property before. The site is very straightforward to navigate around and use - something that was of vital importance for me, as my IT skills are basic!! It is very easy to make contact with a 'real person', not just a machine with press button numbers and everyone is really polite and helpful. They send out ideas on how to improve your bookings, alerts etc, yet don t bombard you with annoying e mails all the time. Many of my booking enquiries come via Independent Cottages, so I strongly recommend them. Lorna Hinde”

“As a new holiday let I was looking for a listing site to advertise with alongside my own website and being wary of the larger sites that tend to add on booking fees to guests, decided to try Independent Cottages. I have been extremely happy with my choice and have already had bookings through my listing. The whole process of setting it up was extremely easy with a great personal service all the way from Sarah, and the Owner Page is very user friendly and easy to navigate with some very useful tools. Highly recommended if you want to get your cottage out there but also want to keep control.”

“We have had our cottage on this website for 5 years and are very pleased with the level of response. Apart from our own website and word of mouth, this is our only source of bookings. We have withdrawn from all other advertising sources as they were not reaching potential clients. Advice received from Independent Cottages has been useful. Response to any emails we send them has been very prompt. Very good value for money. Would definitely recommend to other cottage owners.”

“In our view, for small businesses running holiday cottages, Independent Cottages is a beacon of excellence in a world where the big expensive players dominate. The site is intuitive to use, both for the owner, and holidaymaker, and is pleasing on the eye. There is excellent management information, and extremely flexible features such as the noticeboard and last minute offers. The price of listing is very competitive, and the site always features well on Google results. From the start, we have received a regular supply of enquiries. Finally, if you have a question - you can contact them and you are treated promptly, and as a valued customer!! I have no hesitation in recommending Independent Cottages.”

“I use Independent Cottages to advertise my holiday accommodation, Purlin in the New Forest. This is my first season on their site. I have been very impressed so far with the initial set up of the advert and the response to date. I really like the ability for calendar updates on their site to instantly update their calendar which I added to my own Web site. Their customer relations is grateful and any queries I have had have been quickly and professionally answered.”

“We have advertised our holiday home with independent cottages since 2011 and have found the web site excellent. We are very pleased with the number of bookings we have received through independent cottages year on year. The web site is very user friendly for both owners and holidaymakers. As owners it allows us to deal directly with holidaymakers so that we can offer a very personalised service to our customers. Sarah is very professional and helpful in advising us on how best to present our property and her customer service is second to none. “Independent Cottages is my favorite Holiday Online Directory - The enquiries are very genuine and very often lead to a booking. Enquiries from other sites very often do not result in bookings as the guests seem to be 'shopping around' for cheap deals. The Booking system is so easy and listing all the visitors arrival and departure dates is so helpful, I cut and paste it and keep it on my wall for a quick reference. I also like the fact that it does not let you double book a cottage - it has saved me several times ! Adding photos and moving them around is easy and Sarah writes some excellent information on the cottage advertised and I imagine researches the area it is in. The annual cost is excellent and very fair unlike one of the other directories in particular who try and force you to take commission only listings. The Search Engine Optimisation is excellent and my cottages are always near the top of Google on Page One, which is not easy I know ! There are loads of directories listing Holidays so very competitive, I let out several cottages for other people and always recommend Independent Cottages, I have another to go on with them shortly.”

“I find Independent Cottages very easy to use. The owner login is straightforward, as is the ability to change details. The calendar is especially easy to use. I like the idea of the website as a portal for potential guests to browse properties whilst allowing me to keep control of my bookings, and there are no hidden costs or fees. I do get fed up with some other companies who allow guests to book and even pay without my involvement. That system might suit a bigger hotel but my cottage is next to where we live and I like to have some idea of who is booking. I think guests appreciate this - they have also said the website is straightforward. When I set up my advert and had a few initial queries, Sarah responded promptly and helpfully, giving me tips on how to boost bookings. I would have no hesitation in recommending Independent Cottages for anyone wanting to advertise their property but still keep control of bookings.”

“I decided to sign up to Independent Cottages last year as I like their model; we the owners, take charge of the bookings. No instant book, no extra booking fees for guests, no pressure to rate everything, no wrist slapping when you decide not to accept a booking! Just a simple person to person transaction without the middle man getting in the way and taking a slice of the rental from both parties. All holiday lets on the site are verified and staff are quick to respond to enquiries. I very much hope that there online presence continues to grow and I get all my bookings through their site.”

“We have been advertising with Independent Cottages for a year now, and have been very pleased with the service provided, and the business generated for our holiday cottage in Snowdonia, North Wales. The advertising rates are very reasonable compared to many other accommodation and letting websites. The proprietor, Sarah, has provided extremely efficient and helpful customer service. She set up our listing for us using material from our own website, and there was no problem with making changes and additions to our advert - these were dealt with efficiently and with no extra charges. We consider Independent Cottages to now be one of the leading UK sites for owners to advertise their holiday homes to seek bookings that are made directly with the owner (rather than through the many impersonal 'one-click' direct online booking sites that now dominate modern holiday accommodation marketing !) .
