After hearing that a decision was made on our application, but us never having received the documents in the mail, our caseworker looked into the matter further and moved the process along. Her quick action in resolving this was greatly appreciated.

I went to the IAS for advice about an application for a visa for a family member (my former partner, who is the mother of my child). It was incredibly important to me to get it right. The first lawyer I spoke to at the IAS gave me some advice which sounded reassuring, but I was left with a nagging doubt, as I felt as if I was more familiar with the specific points of the relevant part of the immigration laws after an hour or two of googling than the lawyer was. Luckily, I decided to get a second opinion: I went back to the IAS, and spoke to a different lawyer. She told me the first one's advice had been completely wrong, and gave me some very different advice - for which she waived the fee. I followed the second set of advice, and was successful with the visa application. So it worked out well in the end, and I'm grateful to the IAS for some much needed help at a reasonable price. However, there are clearly some issues with quality control. The main lesson for me is: whoever you go to for advice, if it's important, always get a second opinion.

It is when in time of need that you really require expert and compassionate guidance - we reached out to IAS and they welcomed us offering not just expert advice but compassionate attention. Taking away are worries and pressure, while at the same time being very up to date with technicalities - it was Natalie Dolan from IAS Liverpool who looked after us and exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend IAS and their service. We will always be indebted. Thank you Natalie. Angad Karan

We were happy with the advice we received, it was personalised and professional. The advisor asked enough questions and listened carefully to understand our situation. We especially appreciated getting honest advice about costs and time frames of potential visa.

On behalf of my wife and I, I would personally like to thank Gloria and UVIC for all the hard work you have put into helping us get the visa for my wife. The process to get a visa is a long and protracted one, which we thought we understood well, but with the refusal of the visa application which we made ourselves before contacting your company made us realise that we would be unlikely to succeed again. The difficulty is exacerbated by the fact that I am a contractor, but your success rate with sponsors who are contractors was the key factor in choosing your company. You guided us through the application process, and made sure that our evidence and documentation not only met the requirements, but perhaps more importantly, was also presented in the correct way. The continuous updates, support and help you gave us, by phone, email and social networking chat was first class. Than you so much again for getting us through this, and getting my wife the visa. You have brought happiness back into our lives and we can settle down now in the UK.

Having failed miserably on our first application - mainly for not imagining how much evidence of every thing could be required - our successful application was due to the advice we received. Clare was a sympathetic listener while being professional and always returned my e-mails and telephone calls promptly - apart from when she was in court or on sick leave. Should I meet anyone requiring this type of assistence I would be confident in recommending IAS.

Information given by phone was very thorough and enlightening. However the promised email confirming the information was never received. So only half the job was done. Will I get a refund of half the fee? I doubt it.
