“HDR-1100S 500GB A great advance from the Foxsat HDR that had its issues (Primarly the horribly SLOW interface until the live TV is rendered under menus + issues when recording Eg Jump to end when in catchup and recording ends; random appearance of captions after pausing live TV). When support for iPlayer finally dies it was time for an upgrade. New model much more responsive and no particular glitches spotted yet (after one week). Some nice touches such as "would you prefer to watch this in HD" whenever a programme starts and the PIP in the Guide. The guide could make much better use of the available screen width (I mean, who owns a 4:3 screen these days anyway). It's still not as good as the Humax Freeview PVR we owned about 4 years ago and it's hard to imagine why they don't just use the same software. Would love to have NetFlix app so need to keep the AppleTV. Anyways, happy we now have a better experience, albeit with that feeling it could be better still.”

“Next day delivery with one hour time slot. Arrived in plain white box,not retail packaging. The unit and remote control looked and performed as good as new,and also a great saving over new price. Thanks Humax.”

“Picture quality is good, but when switching on TV the Humax box is always in "standby mode" with screen information saying " channel not tuned" so it take me 2 - 3 minutes to reset it - quite a pain !!! I need some advice as to how to correct this problem. I have retuned the station list but the issue still persists!!!”

“It's my fault (well my auto text tbh) that the incorrect postcode was submitted with my order. I called as soon as I realised but nobody would own the problem and I just got stuck in telephone ping pong with human and dpd. All I got was fobbed off by Humax staff. Very disappointing experience. Anyway my next day delivery took over a week.”

“This is my 3rd Humax PVR with my first purchased in 2005. Although the interface is different and the remote control has less buttons, I have found everything I need on it. I also downloaded some of the Humax apps to my Iphone (they had some poor reviews on the App Store). I am very impressed that I can now watch live TV on my tablet and phone via the Humax Live TV App. I can also watch programs that I have recorded via these Apps. I do miss the Skip Forward remote button (you can do this but it is not as intuitive) and the File Manager feature in the PVR user interface. All in all I am very pleased with the unit and would recommend it.”

“Easy to set up (I have an old JVC television) and easy to operate. I preferred the blue background with white text on the programme guide and set up on my old Humax - easier to read than white text on a black background. I like the media options - have used the Humax for photos and recorded lectures. So far, no problems with recording or playback.”

“Received the box quickly and,for a refurbished item, it's in good condition and is nice and solid. Haven't used it yet as the static caravan it has been bought for is now shut for the winter.”
