“We were very pleased and impressed with the work They did: the way in which the crew arrived on time, got the site ready quickly, kept it tidy, cleared up the garden front and back, and the street. The work done was just what we wanted, and quickly done. And the crew were very pleasant and hard working people to have in the garden and through the house.”

“It is a shame none of the key points this company focuses on is caring for wildlife and adhering to the law https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/advice/wildlife-and-the-law/wildlife-and-countryside-act/ Despite clearly notifying the team and owner of multiple species of bird nesting in a tree, they were determined to ‘check for empty nests’ so they could prune a tree. Thankfully my determination stopped the work. Tom, maybe you should be more cautious about offering tree cutting services in nesting season?”

Hi there, Thank you for raising this complaint. I would like to start by saying that when you kindly pointed out the presence of nesting birds in your neighbours tree, we stopped our work and rescheduled this job for October following nesting season. We do need to substantiate any claims of nesting birds by carrying out a non-invasive and very cautious inspection of the nest to identify whether it is active and what the species of the occupant is to give us a better idea of when we can safely reschedule the work. This can either be done from ground level or by carefully climbing the tree. As a business we do take the Wildlife and Countryside Act very seriously and do not carry out any work to trees with suspected wildlife. As i am sure you can imagine, this is an ongoing challenge during nesting season which lasts approx. 7-8 months of the year. In order to be a commercially viable business, we do have to operate during nesting season, but approach our work during this period with extra caution. We currently have a long list of jobs which we have happily put on hold due to the presence of nesting birds of which your neighbours tree is included. We thank you for raising this issue but would like to assure you and our other loyal customers that we have never, and will never carry out work to trees with protected wildlife and will continue to practice safe tree work during nesting season without disturbing the wildlife enjoy so much. “Tom and his team were a delight to have working in our home last week. We got excellent advice from Tom beforehand, and afterward about the trees we would like to plant as replacements. Tom's team did a superb job of removing two large dying trees in our Victorian terraced flat rear garden, they brought everything through the flat, and chipped it all out front in the road. No mess, no damage, no drama - just lovely, friendly people doing top quality, rapid work. Absolutely perfect!”

“From start to finish, the team were polite, tidy, courteous & professional. We have a large tree behind our garden wall that had never been pruned. The 3 guys took care to prune and shape, while maintaining the lateral branches I wanted to keep. They went beyond task, by kindly assisting with overgrown ivy and a rotting unsafe pergola. “I've used Tom Boswell trees at two addresses, once to completely clear a garden so that it could be landscaped, and the second time to pollard two massive trees and thin a few others. On both occasions the team arrived on time, completed the job without a word of complaint, and left the spaces looking lovely without any trace of their having been there. They also reduced the bill on the first job, unasked, because it hadn't taken as long as anticipated.”
