Got a good amount of information and good to see all the topics covered, however it was hard to keep attention to the course when it is just words on a screen. It would be good to have more interactive elements throughout the course, such as more videos, quizes throughout, someone presenting the information occasionally etc. Reading from slides is not how most people learn, and it felt hard to retain information

Thank you for your feedback! We currently offer mock assessments and videos and are working on adding more interactive elements in our next update. We appreciate your input.

Quick response from staff,Content of hazard is too short if put picture in each hazard will look more interesting.

The IOSH course material and exercises were great. The only thing I would say is for someone with dyslexia the text read aloud doesn’t work and that there could be more videos to break up the long PowerPoint presentations. I would recommend the course to anyone as it’s very useful and informative and will help me in my job and future career. The speedy response on my final project to have a email within several hours of submitting it to say I passed and recommend my pass grade to IOSH is just absolutely amazing. Thank you again HSQE

Thank you for your feedback, Michael. We are introducing inbuilt audio into our IOSH course in the next update, however we do recommend a number of screen readers that are compatible currently. We're glad to hear that you was happy with the course and service.

No real issues, thought it was a good course, that allowed you to work at your pace and could go back if needed. Some things that would have made it better for me: - I do like course notes to make notes and emphasise, not option to print. May be for keeping intellectual property, but if somebody wanted to copy, they would spend the time to copy. - An audio version may be of benefit to some, reading the words as they appear on screen. Not a problem to me as I would prefer the reading and making notes on a copy. - When taking the tests, when submitting the answers I didn't think the two options were clear, thought the submit may submit the whole course - There is a time limit on completing the course, have a count down saying how many days to go, caught me out once.

Thank you for your feedback Paul. We will feedback your comments to the course development team to review. We have previously flagged up the addition of audio to our courses, and will be introducing that in our next update.

The contect was good, and the traning video was wel put togther. Would have liked to see a bit more training around filling out a risk assessment document.

Thank you for your feedback. You'll appreciate that much of the course is about the thinking process that goes into the risk assessment document. When it comes to completing the risk assessment, we also have a set of instructions and an informative instructional video to help you complete it. We are also looking at introducing more videos that will provide even more detail.

The course was ok, although much of the content could be accessed online and this could be 100% online based. There was lots of wasted time and too many breaks. The tutor was lovely but didn't keep the pace of learning going.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. You are correct. Our course, as advertised on https://hsqe.co.uk/courses/iosh-managing-safely/ , is designed to be undertaken by the student directly, 100% online, at their own pace, at a time and place that suits them, without the need to be tutor-led. Our online course contains all the information that a student needs to complete their course, so we expressly prohibit external tutors from getting involved in its delivery. Our course is not designed to be tutor-led or have activities set outside of what is provided online. The pace should be dictated by the learner and not include breaks set by someone else. Indeed, to use our materials in that way is a breach of our terms and conditions (T&Cs) of sale, which must be agreed upon on purchase and are available to view at: https://hsqe.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/ Based on the information you provided, we are treating your experience as a potential breach of our T&Cs. We have identified who purchased the course that you undertook and have contacted them for comment. Their, and their other student’s, access to our learning materials have been suspended while we conduct our investigation. We will contact you separately to understand more about what occurred. Once again, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Gives the basics. However, seen in an international context, most legal stuff appears to be purely UK related. I know a lot of other national legislation often leans up against the UK legislation in these areas, but in order to be certifified agains international standards, you must know the specific national and regional legislation. That is not clear from the course.

The slides were well thought out and presented. I liked the refresher quizzes and the photo references back to the video footage from the office scenario. I also thought the tasks were a useful addition and helped to consider personal experience however for me they would have been better discussed in a group and I didn't get that opportunity with my colleagues. My recoomdation for improvement would be for the dashbord to show when a course is complete and the certificate issued, as you have to open the course and check down to make sure it is done and finished.

Thank you for your feedback, Paula. Apologies that you had issues seeing when a course was completed, we do have the facility to see when a course has been completed through your coordinator dashboard.

Good content that is collated in a logical order. Presentation quality is 'old fashioned' and does not measure up to other e-learning training that is out there. This comment is based on significant experience in writing H&S technical content, working with instructional designers to present that information interactively and imaginatively.

Thank you, Rowena. We have a rolling programme where we update all our courses. We are just about to start the next cycle and it will be incorporating a new look and feel over the coming months.

Not bad as a refresher course. ( I had previoulsy done an ISOH course in 2010 ) People new to H&S may benefit more from a classroom based course with a teacher/trainer.

Many thanks Martin. Our students do have access to our in-house tutors for the duration of the course if they need further support.

The course was helpful and extensive, covering all that is required from a H&S perspective. However, I work in Housing Management and there was little emphasis on that aspect of housing - this is not necessarily a criticism of the course but a consideration as I am sure a lot of housing providers require all staff to complete and a module on managing estates/customer visits would be helpful. The risk awareness session was a bit long and took a lot of clicking.

Thank you for your feedback and we're glad that you found it helpful and extensive. We will certainly investigate developing a specific module on housing management for those that need that specific information.

The course was ok. I had, however, already completed manual handling, asbestos, WAH and various other add-ons, so these shouldn't have needed to be done again.

Thank you for your feedback. The bonus courses that we provide in our bundles are optional and they do not need to be completed in order to sit / complete the main course in the bundle. That said, many employers require their people to be refreshed on the short courses to keep their knowledge topped-up.

There were lots of pages of reading within the modules where it may be appropriate to mix this up with short video clips with a recording of a live person explaining along with the text underneath.

Good price for a recognized accreditation, course content fairly brief but covering a large number of topics, some of the wording and questions in the end of course exam exam were best described as ambiguous, although this is probably an issue with IOSH rather than the course provider

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, unfortunatly the question bank is set by the approval body, rather than us.

I thought the videos were good but could have been more interactive eg you highlight or circle hazards at a particular point. More regular mini test would help.

I find H & Safety can be a bland subject and the course was very script based. Would have been good to have videos or animations to lift the subject and provide more real life situations. All the exercises provided are PDF's and non- editable which in an online world was not ideal. I produced our own branded versions for the other colleagues in our company to use. Possibly a video explanation on how to do an effective risk assessment would also make all the difference.

I was able to work through the material quickly, but there was a huge amount of reading. I was disappointed at the lack of interactive material and video content. The presentation of material could be better.

Thank you for your feedback, Lee. The vast amount of our feedback suggests that we have the balance right for most people. But we'll certainly keep an eye on it.

Very enjoyable course but i would like to see the option of having a hard copy of the course material to reflect on. I do not believe this is currently an option for course attendees?
