Booking and payment taking, received phone call stating no room available, trying another site, then asking for another £40 on top of the cost.Dave was very helpful but still had to pay extra £19

I booked a weekend break and paid upfront. I received a call the next day asking for £45 more each per person if we wanted the hotel I had booked. I found this really unreasonable to be honest. I have gone with an alternative hotel, but it's not what I booked and paid for.

Was very disappointed when contacted to confirm booking, apparently room wasn’t available with the supplier specified so had to pay an extra £57 to get a room at the hotel we wanted. My brother & his wife had booked an hour after me and they got the holiday at the price quoted, don’t know how this happened. Overall not pleased with the outcome of having to pay the extra

I have used holiday gems on and off for over a decade now and at the start they couldn't do enough for you but as the years have rolled on the service has become worse to the point our last holiday in Fuerteventura in June this year our flight was cancelled 48 before our return home, I spoke with holiday gems and basically left us to fend for ourselves whilst abroad, that certainly isn't good, just booked another holiday this coming Jan 2023 as a family Christmas treat in the Canary Islands, 6 of us, we arrive on the 14th for 7 nights but they had us arriving and leaving on the 14th, 3 hours apart, flights,hotel and taxi all booked wrongly, pls pls pls improve........

Just signed up for our first holiday with HolidayGems - therefore experience was limited to your website. The site was straightforward until the payment section when it timed out. Not a unique problem except that the same thing happened to my daughter. Despite timing out the payment was accepted but it is disconcerting not knowing whether the money has gone out and the holiday has been booked. Do you have a problem with your servers?

I have used Holiday Gems before with no problems but this time trying to change our holiday was a nightmare. No one to talk to- no reply from the website or email. Eventually I managed to get a lovely girl called Finn who sorted me out.

First time to use HolidayGems already has red flags with quoted prices on website which is not the price on booking confirmation.

The rate was good but wasn’t clear on the baggage allowance when booking on. I thought baggage was included, have reached out twice and have had zero response which is a shame when you’ve spent almost 4K on a holiday

Was told I'd be getting a phone call about 10 minutes after are call was to end to let me know my holiday had been finalised and if I was getting an upgrade as the room I had booked had to be cancelled and I was to pay another £19 towards another room,I never got the return call and I don't know if I got an upgrade,but the man I spoke to was very pleasant.

I booked this on 3/6/22 with no problem and a good price.On 1/7/22 I get an email that says my balance is overdue and they had contacted me several times about this which was untrue as I had only had the confirmation email so I paid £105 which they said I had to pay.When I checked my bank on 30/06/22 they had been paid £305 I didn't request this so I have paid my holiday in full in the space of a month!

Advertised online prices are completely unrealistic and I was unable to book online - flights were unavailable so would not let me book a package holiday online- even though your website states it is always cheaper to book on line. I had to ring up the following day - price of holiday had increased when I finally managed to get through on the phone lines.

This is an online order and no payment is taken at the time of submission, only a pre-authorisation is held pending confirmation. Due to rapid changes in availability and/or costs from the suppliers, should we not be able to honour the booking we will contact you to offer options which are up to you to accept or decline. HolidayGems and Customer Support was very good. Unfortunately the hotel was not. It is described as 5 star luxury but it was nothing more than 3 star. Visitors beware - Ramada Resort, Side is not 5 star and is quite a distance from Side. I suggest HolidayGems revise their rating or remove the hotel from their listing. I was originally allocated an outhouse (which was probably meant for staff use) but even that was not prepared for guests as you will see from the videos. I did not want to accept it but the night Receptionist (male) was not helpful and said he couldn’t do anything about it and that I should sort it out with the travel agency or their rep. I had to wait till lunchtime of the following day to be moved to the hotel building and whilst I was relieved to get out of the smelly hut, the hotel room itself could not be described as anywhere near 5 star. I’ve been to Turkey before and stayed in 5star accommodation as well as 3-4 star places. I would rank this place as 3 star. Apart from the male night Receptionist, the rest of the staff were helpful. The facilities were ok; food was nice; the beach was around 10-15mins walk via an uneven track road but a free shuttle was available. Side, the main town is 40 mins via dolmus (80p/ 12TL each way) or quicker by taxi (18 Euros) I would definitely visit Side again but would avoid this hotel. (PS I tried to upload a more illustrative video but the portal did not support) HolidayGems agent was very helpful and I was pleased with booking process but subsequent email communication took far too long, hence the low rating.

We do apologise for any inconvenience. We do not appear to have received any contact from resort on our emergency telephone number shown on your booking documents. This did deny us the opportunity to resolve the issue immediately which may have resulted in a more positive outcome. The hotel is rated as 5* and enjoys a very good rating on review sites. We do hope, that despite the issues raised, you were able to enjoy your holiday.

Website easy to use and prices really competitive however be careful not to fall into trap of thinking you have bagged a cheap holiday as highly likely you will receive a call shortly after booking online to inform the price has gone up and will cost you considerably more, basically some of the holiday prices don’t exist it’s false advertising, and I had a conversation with a Team Leader who confirmed this.

This appears to be an online order and no payment is taken when the order is submitted. The website gives full information of the process on every page of the order and this is reiterated in the Terms and Conditions to which you agreed when submitting the order. Once orders are received by our office, should we not be able to honour the booking at the web price due to changes in availability or costs, we will call the client to offer any suitable alternatives which is then up to the client to accept or not. No payment is taken until our client agrees to the new costs. A pre-authorisation only is held, and released immediately if no booking is confirmed. We do endeavour to make the process as transparent as possible, including the information provided o the summary sent immediately on submission of the order. Thank you for proceeding with the booking and we trust you will have an amazing holiday.

A disappointing phone call to say that the holiday I had booked online was actually booked up and but they could give it to me for another £45 per person - however, no incentives were given. Might as well have booked with another provider and got some extras (ie free priority boarding) for this now increased price.
