Ours is not a straightforward conservatory. Initially we planned partial shading of the roof area and required blinds for three equal sized oblong panels of maximum length, which precluded using remote operation and relied on using a long pole for opening/closing. The fitting of these blinds went well and looked good. So we extended the roof shading project and ordered a number of pairs of trapezoidal shaped roof blinds, many of different dimensions. That was much less satisfactory: repeated visits for measurements, blinds not manufactured to measurements, blinds that were not delivered when or where scheduled. The fitter did his best, but it was a long and frustrating job over 2-3 months. The company responded promptly to our complaints, and said they would look at a token of compensation but we never heard any more from them. In fairness, we’d say that if you have a straightforward installation of rectangular blinds, within the capability parameters of the blinds, you’ll probably be satisfied, especially if they are vertical window blinds and not roof blinds. The longer roof blinds are very difficult for me to open and close using the rod, but easier for my husband. (I hope he outlives me.) But on a number of occasions the blinds do not go back into their pleats as you close them. The fitter came and adjusted them, which has improved the situation somewhat but we still have to intervene manually quite often to poke them back into their contracted form (not easy when you are working at the height we are). This week, 3 weeks after completion, the ‘jaw’ on one of the poles broke, and we are awaiting a replacement. So though we appreciate that our conservatory represented an installation at the outer extremes of size and difficulty, we can’t wholeheartedly recommend Hilary’s Blinds.

Service is very good. Happy with most curtains and blinds. But have problem with long french window curtains. Hard to close and open. The runner which is in 2 parts comes apart so curtain get stuck in the gap and often comes off runner. Did mention it but told you should have had something put there. But no mention of fixing it.

Had roller blinds fitted in the conservatory and the living room excellent service from John for measuring them and Jim for fitting excellent service Edinburgh branch would highly recommend

Blinds were good except the large one in the lounge, only pulled one way not very easy, had it changed for a split one which works perfect, had to wait a long time for longer wands as mum could not reach up with the short one's, overall Brain the fitter/sales rep wasA1 and polite, service and lead time was good, would use again, pricing seemed ok.

The gentleman who measured up for our blinds was miserable and not very friendly. However the gentleman who fitted our blinds was lovely, very efficient, polite and approachable. The blinds are really nice, expensive but should last a long time.

The blinds which were fitted we are extremely happy with, unfortunately that does not follow with the communication between the agent who first came to visit and us. We opted for roller blinds in the kitchen, picked the fabric and colour, but changed our mind prior to installation, and asked that the representative pay another visit. This has still not happened. We have had venetian blinds fitted in Lounge and bedrooms which look great, but still waiting for rep to contact ref kitchen and dining room roller blinds............

No problems with ordering or fitting (done in 15 mins) but price for what they are is extremely steep for kitchen and lounge blind and thats after a 15% previous customer reduction. Sorry Hillarys but I need to look for a better price some where else next time.

Was happy with the sales person who came. The blind was a bit over priced for a small blind . If iI was fit enough would been able to get £120 cheaper in my local Dunelm. Would have taken a few minutes to install. Still my problem but I will not be using Hillarys again. Very overpriced and not true to the advert on the website.

The man who came out to see me was very good 🙂 the fitter however was not very reliable and he missed the appointment the first time so I had to juggle my day and chase him up he said his computer had gone down so maybe he needs a more uptondate one I'm not sure .He came to fit them and forgot to leave some hooks on one side to tie the strings too ,but did them in the other side . and also instead of one pelmet as I wanted it was divided into three so looks a bit hit and miss and the middle one sticks out a bit , I was not happy either having all the rubbish left behind and having to clean up after and take all the boxes and paper to the tip .

As I had already chosen my fabric it was very quick and easy to order the product I wanted. Unfortunately when it came to fitting it wasn't as easy, I wanted the blind flush with the wall but it was fitted upto the window, this was changed quickly but I wasn't planning on repairing or repainting the whole wall and now I need to remove the raw plugs from the plaster and fill it in then paint.

I’ve used Hilary’s for 12 yrs. Recently bought high end (£1.5k) curtains which are great. It’s the hanging that was disastrous. 4 return visits, and they’re still coming off rail. Just had call from random sales team. When I said I was unlikely to use them again, she said, OK and was ready to hang up. I asked if she wanted to know why. She replied “not really. If you want to complain, do so to customer services” - and hung up.

A bit of a mixed bag for us really. We ordered a number of blinds for our new property and shutters for our kitchen. Still waiting for the shutters so this review is only in relation to the blinds. Really happy with our Roman and Venetian blind. Good quality, good fit and great colour. They were with us quickly and installation was great. Really pleased. We also ordered a perfect fit blind. When ordering I made it clear I was looking for something “black out” as it was for my toddler’s room. The material is black out but the blind itself lets more light in that the £5 temporaries that we had when we moved in! I could have spent far less money and ordered online for a similar product that did the job. We thought that having an advisor to the house to quote and measure would guarantee us with the right products but sadly this hasn’t been the case. I’m disappointed I will now need to buy curtains or a whole new blind to fill the brief I initially had, My Son won’t sleep with the blind as it is. Feel a little as though I’ve wasted my money with this blind specifically and it’s a lot of money to waste.

We are very happy with the visual look of our blinds, but very disappointed with the actual operation of them, we paid over a £1000 for your product, expecting state of the art fittings, the blind installation framework is secured using 6 brackets, the blind then slides up or down the inside of the frame, talk about clunk click, the blind catches every bracket,. In this day and age a very poor bracket securing design, 4 blinds 24 clunk clicks. Not happy.
